chapter 1 luck or loss

most days start off with the same routine

get up get kids ready and off to school

this is where I have either luck or I lose

one is easy other very stubborn just like me

chuckles Nick. as a day goes a plan is as effective as a high voltage shock collar one jolt and everything is outta order.

I have made plans and routine but those are the real challenges how can we evolve past our limits and become more than who we are my son's both give me a reason to keep trying and to move forward as a man and father.

today is no different than any other except after walking to the store, I saw a lottery ticket looked like someone left it on top of their vehicle I figured it wouldn't hurt to scratch it besides my luck has ran out got dumped a month ago and knowledge of not being good enough, somehow it worked for me hitting a mega hit for me 100,000 times 5 not bad for a bad luck streak. cashing it in was interesting given how most stores can't cash it and I don't look like much.

store clerk was glaring because of my look plain clothes just something to cover my modesty or so nobody saw what was underneath everyone judges.

When I handed her my ticket her jaw dropped and she scanned it seems like only banks can cover the cost and I was taken to a bank and went thru paperwork and scores of signing I had a limp wrist afterwards. money was in bank and I had a card now how do I explain to my son's and fact that we won't be living in squalor?
