FLASHBACK 10

Lucifer had to patiently wait for the female's mouth to close. When it did, he hissed in satisfaction but it opened again and Lucifer bared his fangs in annoyance. The female didn't notice because she had heard something far worse than his brewing anger.

"He what?" She finally whispered.

"Lied to you". Lucifer said to her.When she looked back at him, her expression had changed from shock to that of hurt. Lucifer wanted to laugh, she was going to experience more of that soon.

"Why would he hide that from us?"

Lucifer hissed.

"Isn't it obvious, he is intimidated by you".

The female looked at him with a confused expression.

"Why? He created us,there is nothing about Adam and I that is intimidating". She said. Lucifer hissed. Even if she was extremely innocent, she was smart. And here he was thinking it will be easy for him to persuade her.

"He doesn't have what you have".

"And that is?"

"Adam. Or rather, what you feel for Adam". Lucifer said.

"You mean love". Lucifer hissed.

"What?"

"Love. I love Adam". Lucifer did not speak for a moment. He knew this 'love' was completely different from what was practiced in heaven. He had seen them both touch each other a lot and act very strangely with one another, to the point of even putting their lips together which was the most disgusting of them all.

He couldn't understand it and it pissed him off. He hated it but he wished he knew what it felt like so he could hate it the more.

"Yes…that…love". Lucifer said."He can't have that because he is spirit and you are flesh. Two different entities, he's jealous".

The female took in what he said and nodded slowly.

"Unbelievable". She whispered.

"And also if you and Adam become like him, there wouldn't be anything special about him anymore".

"How so?"

"Well his greatest power is his ability to choose between good and evil".

"Evil?"

It was obvious the female had no idea what he was talking about. Since she and arrived at the garden, they've never done anything wrong. It pissed Lucifer off that they were just so perfect. Well that was about to change.

"Yes evil,it's a great power. You'll be wiser than you are now". He said to her. The female nodded again.

Lucifer was shocked she had not yet jumped up on her feet to eat the fruit.

"That is all quite wonderful but I and Adam are comfortable. I don't think we need anything else".Lucifer at that moment almost jumped out from the snakes body. Did she just reject the power to be like God? Did she just say no to him?! DID SHE JUST SAY NO?!!!!

"I'm sorry… what do you mean?" The female looked at him with a small smile.

"I am contented, there's nothing else I want". Lucifer hissed sharply. Who is smiling at you?

Lucifer murmured and murmured but the female only returned to her melodious humming.

"You know…"

The humming stopped again.

"You are a making a decision on Adam's behalf". Lucifer said quietly. If nothing was going to work, at least one thing would. Her love for Adam. Pathetic.

"But…"

"I mean you said he was your equal, but then you are making decisions for him as though his opinions don't matter. As though…you are above him".

The female got on her feet.

"No. That is not true. I believe Adam and I are one in everything".

"But how? You clearly don't share the same mind, he is a man and you are a woman. You're different".

The female opened her mouth to say something but then she closed it again.

"It's a pity". Lucifer continued."I would have thought that you wanted the best for Adam, you would have gotten the fruit to make him wiser than ever. I thought you loved him".

When he said those words, he started to walk away very slowly. Behind him, there was silence then a small groan.

"I love Adam and I will hand him that fruit and prove it to you. But first I must take out of it to make sure what you're saying is true". She said. Lucifer abruptly turned and he hissed.

"And if it is not?"

"I will take the blame only". She said. Lucifer hissed softly.

"Go on then". The female looked at him for a while before heading towards the tree, Lucifer followed slowly behind her hissing occasionally.

As they got closer, they could feel the raw power emanating from the tree. Like they both thought the same thing, Lucifer and the female stopped and stared at each other.

The look on the woman's eyes told everything. She was overwhelmed by the feeling. When she looked at Lucifer again, he tilted his snake head in a 'I told you so' manner. She sighed and walked closer to the tree. Finally,the fruit was at arms reach. She turned to Lucifer again for moral support, all she received was a hiss.

Her hands trembled as she reached for a bunch of grapes on the tree and took three pieces into her mouth. At that moment, Lucifer hissed loudly.

He had won. He had gotten them to disobey 'him', they were just like him now. There was nothing special about them anymore.

The female kept chewing then her eyes widened. She looked at the fruit in her hands with shock.

"This is…"

"Do you feel anything?" Lucifer asked. The female looked around and then shook her head.

"No, not really. Is something huge supposed to ha--"

Then she looked down.

Lucifer followed her gaze and noticed she was looking at her self.

"What?" He asked.

"Why am I naked?" Lucifer's eyes widened. She knew she was naked? That means it worked.

"Congratulations female, you have the sight of God". She looked at him in shock. But before she could reply, a voice called.

"My woman, you would not believe what I just witnessed. I met the smalle--"

"Adam…"

"What are you doing near that tree?"

Lucifer hissed loudly. His work here was done, time for him to leave and watch from a distance.

"It was…" By the time the female had turned towards the snake, it was already gone.
