LUCIFER'S BANE

Part one of a two book series. The rules of the fallen are simple. Ten days. Ten days, you live without sin and you will be accepted back into heaven. It's just ten days, it shouldn't be that hard. Until the rules became applicable to fragile, innocent Azaliah who after an ambush, was thrown out of heaven by mistake and began her transition into a human. With her newly found emotions all over the place, the human family she lived with, a low ranked angel who swore to protect her, a mark on her shoulder that is a beacon for the darkness that ruled the earth, and her romantic feelings for the mysterious demon who helped her stay alive in exchange for his freedom, ten days suddenly felt like ten years. And with that came an epic battle for her soul as two ancient spirits came after her when the celestial world finds out that she is the weapon that can kill man and spirit's greatest enemy, Lucifer. Nb: part one mostly focuses on Lucifer as the main character. The main character for book two would be introduced towards the end of the book.

Nahamani acted on impulse and ran towards the door. Gadreel went after her but Lucifer brought out his hand, stopping him. She tried telekinesis again and her head started to hurt. She screamed as she fell to the ground. Lucifer and the others watched her struggle and fail to open the door every time.

"I think a wise person would have known by now after so many attempts that the door cannot be opened". He said mockingly. She turned to him with a glare but Lucifer still had an amused smile plastered on his face.

"Let me out". She demanded. Lucifer shook his head.

"Why should I. The one thing that is keeping you here, you refused to give to me". He said. She scoffed.

"You will kill me if I do". Why was he enjoying playing her like this?

"Then you will at least die obeying orders. You love to do so don't you?" He asked even though he knew the answer. She frowned at him and attempted to open the door again hurting herself the more.

"Why do you even bother? I have sealed the door Nahamani, the only person that can open it is me". He said calmly. Nahamani sharply turned to him, her eyes watering because of the pain she was facing.

"Then open it".

"The key?"

"No!"

"Oh well". Nahamani screamed in frustration. She then went back to her former position and sat on the floor. Lucifer actually fancied her. She had a stubborn spirit and she was very smart. It would be nice to have her on his team. Maybe he won't kill her after all.

"If I am to die, I wish to know what you want with it". She stated with her arms crossed. Lucifer narrowed his eyes at her. Telling her would not stop his plans, he could kill her before she could leave. She couldn't even leave but then he was cautious. Nahamani was able to do something other angels were unable to and she held the key to the most powerful weapon in heaven. Telling her his plans would be very very risky.

"No". He simply replied. Nahamani frowned and then after a staring contest with Lucifer, she sighed in defeat.

"Fine then, why haven't you killed me?" She asked again. Lucifer shrugged. "The key".

"I am not releasing it to you". She said. Lucifer smirked.

"I know". She raised her brows in confusion. What was he doing?

"Then why don't you torture me into giving it up?"

"Because I have come to fancy you and I would love you to be on my side". He said sarcastically although the others didn't quite get his joke. Adriel raised her eyes in shock and then narrowed them in anger. What she had always wanted, this cherub had gotten it by doing absolutely nothing.

"As long as the master lives and rules the heavens, I will never be at your side and that is a very long time". She said with spite. Lucifer smiled at her. He was already tired of her and he was losing patience.

"Well at least I didn't lie when I said I fancied you, that is why I wouldn't torture you". He said then started walking out the door. Nahamani sighed in relief and was about to make a snarky comment at him before he abruptly stopped.

"But that doesn't mean someone else won't ". He said then looked at Adriel.

"Well, have fun". He knew he had made Adriel jealous and angry by his comment earlier so she would be very brutal with the torture. He then stared at Gadreel, a silent order to watch Adriel, the angel nodded in response. As he disappeared from the room, the screams of Nahamani echoed through the white walls.

When he appeared in his room, he let out a laugh so sinister. His plan was falling into place slowly. Very soon all of heaven would bow to him. He just had one more phase.

"Master". Lucifer turned in the direction of the voice. Michael was staring at him confused. Why was Lucifer laughing?

"Was something amusing sir?" He asked with a nervous smile. Lucifer shook his head. Michael had always been very dedicated and loyal to the maker, he had come here to find out what happened to Adriel and Gadreel.

"The rebels are dead if that's why you are here" He replied ignoring Michael's question.

Michael nodded. He still didn't understand why he was laughing over someone's death.

"I actually came here Master to inform you that Nahamani, the cherub is missing. Carshena is extremely worried about her". He said. Lucifer nodded slowly. He had already expected that people would notice her disappearance soon enough. His expression suddenly became sad getting Micheal worried.

"Master?" He called. Lucifer let out a sigh.

"About Nahamani....." He didn't finish. Michael stood up from his seat and moved closer to him. What was he about to say?

"Yes?"

"The rebels.....they did something unexplainable". He said with his head low. Michael gasped.

"They killed her". He said afterward in a whisper and bent his head.

"Yes. Yes they did". As his head was down, he had a smile on his face.

The heavens were in for a shock.
