LUCIFER'S BANE

Part one of a two book series. The rules of the fallen are simple. Ten days. Ten days, you live without sin and you will be accepted back into heaven. It's just ten days, it shouldn't be that hard. Until the rules became applicable to fragile, innocent Azaliah who after an ambush, was thrown out of heaven by mistake and began her transition into a human. With her newly found emotions all over the place, the human family she lived with, a low ranked angel who swore to protect her, a mark on her shoulder that is a beacon for the darkness that ruled the earth, and her romantic feelings for the mysterious demon who helped her stay alive in exchange for his freedom, ten days suddenly felt like ten years. And with that came an epic battle for her soul as two ancient spirits came after her when the celestial world finds out that she is the weapon that can kill man and spirit's greatest enemy, Lucifer. Nb: part one mostly focuses on Lucifer as the main character. The main character for book two would be introduced towards the end of the book.

Nahamani groaned in pain before attempting to open her eyes but the brightness from the room stung her, she kept it closed again. She started to slowly remember her conversation with Lucifer in front of the forbidden door before he knocked her out. She opened her eyes immediately, forcing her eyes to adjust to the light. She then scanned the room thinking Lucifer was lurking in the corner but she didn't see him. She breathed a sigh of relief. The last thing she wanted was to be close to Lucifer again. He was turning into a monster slowly and she did not want to be the first person he saw before he fully became one. She stood up balancing her weight against the wall and then staggered towards the door. She tried opening it with her hands, it wasn't opening. Then she tried telekinesis but when she did, it was like her head was burning up. She held her head panting. She then looked at the room again. It was just white, nothing was in it and then it hit her.

"The white room". She wanted to yell but she knew no one would hear her. The white room was the room for rebellious angels, it could twist the minds of whoever was in it and leave them as a shadow of themselves. Nahamani knew she would soon die if she stays here for too long.

She spotted two golden specks of dust spread across the walls and she screamed. The two cherubs that guarded the door were dead. Lucifer killed them. This made her breathe faster in fear. He had already killed them. Probably tortured them before he did and she was next. She went back for the door banging at it frantically, screaming as she did. She was helpless.

After some time, she gave up and slumped on the ground. She needed to keep calm. She was not going to beg like a coward when Lucifer would walk in here to torture her.

"Oh Lord God, Please help me out of this dilemma. Let me not be prey to the predator and let me not be cast away in shame". She silently prayed. Then she stayed quiet. She cleared her mind of all thoughts, staying as empty as the room she was in. It wasn't long before she remembered something. With a gasp, she placed her hands on her neck. Initially, nothing was there until she waved her hands over the spot and a golden key appeared. She picked it up and stared at it. With a smile, she examined it. This key was very essential to her safety. She just knew it.
