Meeting between alphas

"You are too much!"

Today is the meeting of the alphas.

Accompanied by two of their most trusted; a beta or a mate. Present were several alphas and two female alphas, but only one was the leader of her pack.

Me. I am the Selene-alpha, who had her own pack and is mateless.

Being mateless is a choice. After all, how can any alpha be worthy of me? They would be helpless, too. I am borderline feral and I am too powerful.

I had not been like this. I once adored the species who are favored by the gods, envied them, even.

Such weak, overpopulated beings are blessed by the main realm gods. While we— a species above them—are seen as inferior; ignored as our realm slowly lost its value.

It is just, things happened; I learned. Ignorance it is bliss. Ignorance can help keep a person sane, save lives—well it was what I had thought. Now, I don't know.

I just knew that I was broken. A part of me is missing. I wanted to know what it was and how I can get it back to help me become sane once more, but it just had not returned.

If that was not enough, I had to cope with the unceasing sobbing tugging at my soul, forcing its way into my domain driving me slowly to madness.

A cry for release.

At first I thought I could ignore it, I thought I could just go about enjoying my life happily, but then the voice kept on pleading: 'Have him stop! They are killing me…it hurts!' As if on a loop, pitiful and weak.

Even now, it pleaded in my mind. My right eye twitched.

Finally unable to resist, I agreed. I shall assist, I shall help. Just in my own way. That voice begged for this, so don't become disgusted by what I am about to do.

What should you call this?

Premeditated?

The head, which had bowed to conceal my disdain and bloodlust at the thought of slaughtering this alpha, raised. The eyes were clear, snaggletooth hidden. My gaze stared unwavering.

The alpha who spoke up had a face etched with both anger and disgust. His eyes had bled to a liquid green, a unique color to him in full wolf form. Now he was, like me, 'guised as a parasite or the species commonly known as humans along with his two betas who accompanied him. The remainder were all in wolf form, sitting on their hunches around the oval table crafted with the bare claws of the first alpha king, who had single-handedly felled the old noble tree.

A magnificent thing, even so many hundreds of years later, it was sturdy, shiny and had that wonderful scent to calm agitated wolves.

It was a massive masterpiece I wished that I owned. Well, eventually.

Speaking in wolf tongue dialect since certain pronunciations are harder in this form. I enunciated each word in a tone high enough so the words could be clearly both heard and understood.

"How am I too much? What I have suggested is a concern among all wolves."

"A male to share his mated female with another?"

"If she has no desire too, then she can choose an immortal male."

"Foolish! Our line has been pure for thousands of moon cycles. Why would we sully our bloodline with the bloodline of others?"

He questioned, snarling in my face. I tried to calm myself. Tried my best to find logic in his words, but it was a futile effort.

Females are scarce.

Our realm is unstable.

We have been forced to create a realm to co-exist among the parasitic species that have over populated the main realm.

The realm of the wolves has already lost its prey and most of the unique plant life. The life energy to keep them long-lived had already become so scarce it was affecting the she-wolves carrying pups.

"We are a species of immortals. A species left with the only pure-"

"Shut up! It is well known that cross breeds were born. Most of them were killed, but we all know that a few probably had escaped. So you are saying that is-" my words were cut off by the growl of the male wolf who lunged towards my much smaller form. I exhaled. Like a lamb to the slaughter, the alpha I had previously considered to attack next, attacked first. What a foolish move.

None of the alphas made a move to prevent him from attacking. I may be a rare Selene-alpha and the youngest in history, also female, but there is a rule all wolves are forced to abide by even if they wished it would be abolished.

Hierarchy, the strongest survive and the weak are culled. A rule I agreed with wholeheartedly. Even though our realm is destabilizing, it is a harsh place where only the strong can survive. We warred among each other many times, slaughtering even entire packs at a time.

Crouching low, I allowed the male who shifted to his wolf 's side to barrel towards me, leaning back, body folding almost in half to allow him to pass over me.

My next move, hehe, let's just say; howl in pain, fear, grief.

Whirling immediately, I slid under him, a gleeful smile gracing my lips appearing directly where his exposed stomach was located. Turning my hands into claws, I attacked his underside near his intestines, pulling them out; I repeated the action once more to grasp the main heart, crushing it in my left hand.

Rolling from under the wolf who shuddered and collapsed, I looked down at him. Just before his entire form turned into dust, the look of surprise was etched on his face.

My head tilted, looking down at him even when he was mere dust, unable to comprehend the reason for his puzzled look. Why would he be surprised?

Why though?

Wasn't he aware that he would die?

I had even mentioned this not too long ago; Wolves are beings who are faithful to hierarchy. This is something engrained in most of us.

Even if there was a slim chance I'd have to slaughter him later because he may not be as stupid as I thought, but well…

Some articles said a lot about sirens and mermaids.

But I'm like meh, this is a fantasy thing why bother with all of that... Anyway I tried to not stray to far away from the original.. I really don't like that sirens are half birds so I went with the half fish and and... I also prefer the sirens because of how servos used them.

For those who have an issue.. My bad but I prefer it this way
