Shirley had news. She arranged for Scarlett to come over for a trial lesson on Saturday afternoon. At first glance, the girl who was to be tutored appeared quiet and introverted. The slightly thick frames on her nose, combined with her somewhat dull gaze, made her seem a bit awkward.

Shirley introduced them, "This is Joon. Joon, this is Miss. Li."

Scarlett greeted her with a smile, "Hello, Joon."

Joon nodded, "Hello, Teacher Li."

Her voice was soft, as if she lacked confidence, or perhaps she was just naturally shy.

In the spacious house, only Joon was in. After Shirley took a quick look around, she asked, "Isn't your mother home?"

Joon replied, "She's out."

Shirley said, "Then I won't keep you. You can start your lesson with Teacher Li."

Before leaving, Shirley said to Scarlett, "Contact me if you need anything."

Scarlett smiled, "Thank you for personally bringing me here."

"No need for formalities. You get on with it, and we'll talk later."
