133 Wait For Me

A few days later...

(In the garden)

Carson looked at the bright blue sky as he asked Olivia if there was any update about Cameron. Olivia then told him that according to the royal doctor, Cameron was still unconscious.

"Eleanor's been in the guest room all day, waiting for him to wake up."

"That's how much she loves him. Even though they've already ended their relationship, they still won't let each other go."

"I wonder if he could still take it."

"Speaking of that, I found this in the throne room yesterday," Olivia said as she handed him a sword.

"This must be the sword that Licia used to hurt him," Carson assumed.

"I've cleaned it up, but the blood wouldn't wash off."

"Then I guess this is the sword that contains the red gem."

Olivia then asked him what will happen if the red gem was used to kill Cameron.

Carson looked at the sword. "No one knows. Let's just hope that the red gem will save him."

Meanwhile, Eleanor was in the guest room waiting for Cameron to wake up.

"It's been four days. Why aren't you waking up?" Eleanor mumbled as she looked at the unconscious man lying on the bed.

For the rest of the day, the princess didn't stay anywhere else. She didn't do anything, but wait. She didn't even leave Cameron for a second. Until a few hours later, Alice came in to check on them.

"Your highness, it's already late. You need some rest," Alice said as she handed her a blanket.

"It's fine. You don't need to worry about me. You can go back to your room," Eleanor responded.

"Your highness, I would like to have a word with you."

The princess sat on a footstool. "I'm all ears."

"Your highness, I think it's better if we talk outside."

"I need to look after Cameron. If you want to talk, then say it here."

"Your highness, I would like to inform you that Princess Kaycee would like to talk to you."

Eleanor furrowed her eyebrows. "How?"

"Using this." Alice handed her a mirror.

A few minutes later...

(Outside the guest room)

"It's nice hearing you're voice again," Eleanor began.

"You're still the same old Eva I knew," a voice came out from the mirror.

"Should I address you as Kaycee then?"

"Anything is fine with me, but I just wanted to ask how my brother was."

Eleanor then leaned on the wall and apologized to Kaycee Kaycee then told her that she didn't have to apologize since she didn't do anything wrong.

Eleanor sighed, "You've known about my identity ever since the day I left, and you still accept me as your friend after everything I've done?"

Kaycee responded, "You had a reason for it, right? Then there's nothing to—"

"I was egocentric and audacious. Why did you forgive me...?"

"When I first heard what your intentions were, I didn't know what to do nor how to react. I locked myself in my room because I couldn't believe that you lied about everything, but I couldn't get angry at you. Instead, I pitied you. You're parents both died on the same time in front of your eyes. If I were on your shoes, I'd probably be depressed by now. I've realized that you're actually different from the others. You're a strong woman, Eleanor."

Tears started falling from Eleanor's eyes. "Stop making me cry."

"I've also heard about your relationship with my second brother. I guess you've finally expressed your feelings to him after hiding it for so long."

"Who said I was the one that—"

"It's just a guess." Kaycee giggled.

"I have to watch over Cameron. He can wake up anytime."

"What if he doesn't?"

As soon as Eleanor heard her question, her smile faded away. The question agitated her so much. What if he doesn't wake up? He was the man she loved the most, but what if she never gets to hear his voice nor see him again? She tried to forget it and think about the good times, but she just can't. Her heart just couldn't bear it.

"Eleanor?" Kaycee called for the third time.

Eleanor snapped back to her senses. "Yes."

"My brother will wake up, okay? We just need some patience."
