1 First day

Today is the first day of school. My family and I just moved to Virginia. We used to live with my grandma in Texas before she died. It was a really difficult for my mom to stay at that house or even in Texas because it reminds her too much of grandma. That's why dad asked for a transfer and we moved. My big brother and I were excited to go to a new state. Don't get me wrong we've gone other places but never to this side of the USA. Mostly we've gone to New Mexico, Louisiana, Colorado, Oklahoma... you get the drill. We have gone to places that are basically next to Texas.

Anyway! As I was saying today is the first day of school. My big brother Mason is starting 12th grade and I'm starting 11th grade.

This morning I woke up and took a shower. After putting a towel around my body I checked in my closet to see what I could wear. I choose an outfit after 10 min and started getting dressed.

Once I finished dressing up, I went downstairs and saw mom in the kitchen. She was doing the dishes. I went closer and kissed her goodbye in the cheek right after grabbing the plate of pancakes she made me. Which I will have to eat on the way because since dad is starting his job today he wants to be there super early. I grabbed my shoes and got in the car.

I know what you are probably thinking, but let me tell you that Mason and I are actually really close. Mason also tends to be really protective of me. That's why it's REALLY HARD to get away with anything! I know he cares but sometimes it's so exhausting. Most of my friends back in Texas used to think it was cute of him, but that was not a surprise since almost every girl in my school liked my brother.

15 minutes after we arrived at school. Dad told us that we would have to go to the principal's office to go pick up our schedules, so that's where we went. As soon as we entered the school everybody starts whispering about us. Mason acts like he doesn't hear anything but I know he does. Once in the principal's office the secretary asks us to write our names. After looking at them she took like 20 minutes to start printing our schedules. Thanks to her we are gonna be late for first period.

Mason and I say goodbye and decide to meet each other again at lunch. I'm so nervous because aside from being new, I'm late which means everyone is gonna stop what they are doing to look at who is at the door.

Suddenly she stops explaining when I arrive and everyone looks at the door.

It was great to be making friends already. I'm usually not shy but I don't know what's wrong with me today. Today the teachers only discussed rules and the materials we would need for the school year. So it was a pretty boring day. When it was time for lunch , Rein came over to my locker and after leaving my books we went to the cafeteria.

As soon as I entered I spotted Mason who was already sitting down with his food. Rein was behind me but she was busy taking pictures of the cafeteria "in all its glory". Her words not mine. I did the line to get my food and in front of me are some girls from my english class and chem class. They were holding up the line because one of them who's name I think is Loraine was having a discussion about the last pudding. Somebody supposedly took the last one.

She gasped and looked at me as if I just dared to talk to the queen of England. I really didn't care. She was holding up the line and I just wanted to sit down and eat. I didn't even know if she said something because when I took the banana I left the line. Rein looked so happy that I did that. She even took a photo of Loraine's face and then left the line too.

Since he was taller I climbed one more bleacher to try and reach him but he also did the same so that I couldn't get to him. As we keep going up I suddenly trip, making my whole body fall backwards. I look at Ethan with fear in my eyes and suddenly he is no longer playing. He looks concerned as he grabs me fast so that he can break the fall. We suddenly stare into each other's eyes and stay there for what felt like forever, but then I quickly grab the bottle and stand up. I get to the door and turn around to see that he just stood up and he looks at me. I run back to the car, get on and put the seatbelt on. Mason is telling mom about his day so they don't see me in the back with my hand on my chest feeling like it's gonna explode. I do NOT feel something for Ethan. He's just a player.
