Chapter 25

Ana Louella

After buying the clothes that we are going to wear for the upcoming gala, we went directly at Meg's house and there, we ate the dinner that Meg had prepared for us. We stayed at their house until eight o'clock. We watched some dramas, played some board games and talked about random stuffs. We had so much fun last night and it was indeed wonderful because I am with my friends.

Unfortunately, it has come to an end and I have to attend my classes now but before that, I want to see Ace first. I left home early so I can have a chance to see him this morning. Ace must be painting inside their classroom now.

I quickened my pace and after a few moments, I finally reached their classroom. I wandered my eyes around the classroom and I was surprised to see that there is no one inside.

Why isn't he here? Ace usually comes here thirty minutes before the start of his first period class and I can't be wrong since I have been watching him paint here these past few days. He should be here by now. Perhaps, he just overslept and I should just wait for him to arrive.

I hid behind the corner but I can still see their classroom from where I stand. Only few students pass by here so I am pretty sure that no one will notice me peeking at their classroom.

I glanced at my wristwatch one more time before I looked at their classroom again. It is already forty five minutes past seven o'clock and he is not yet here. I will surely get frustrated the whole day if I will not catch a glimpse of him.

I looked at my wristwatch again and before I can even raise my head, someone spoke out.

"Who are you looking for?" The manly voice said.

The voice sounds so familiar and I feel like I have heard it before but I just can't remember when and where I heard it. I have no time to guess who owns that voice so I quickly raised my head to look at the person who just spoke.

I was surprised to see Ace standing in front of me. He is intently staring at me and I looked into his deep set dark brown eyes. This is the first time that I have seen him up close and I wandered my eyes around his diamond-shaped face. His eyebrows are thick and his eyelashes are curly and long. He has an aquiline nose and thin pinkish lips. Those features match his face perfectly. He is so handsome and if he had not cleared his throat then I would not be able to take my eyes off of him.

"I-" I started and he immediately cut me off.

"Were you looking for me, Louella?" He asked as he raised his eyebrow at me.

"I was- I was just passing by." I stammered and he chuckled.

"If you were just passing by, then you should be gone by now." He said mockingly and I just looked down.

"I know what you're doing these past few days." He said and then he paused for a while.

"I hate it when someone's watching me and I also hate liars. I'm sure, you don't want me to hate you, right?" He added and I raised my head to look at him.

"I just want to see you and I don't have any plan to disrupt you." I said and then I heard him sigh.

"Look, I don't have time to fool around so don't waste your time on me." He said nonchalantly.

"Believe me, I don't have any plan to disrupt you. I just want to see you Ace and that's it." I replied and he chuckled before replying.

"Don't waste the chance that Dane gave you. If I would tell him to kick you out of this university now, he would do it because this time, he no longer has any excuses to let you stay here." He stated and I looked down as I sighed.

"Don't come here anymore and don't try to see me again because I don't want to see you. Do you understand?" He spoke out and I raised my head to look at him but I did not reply to what he has said.

"Do you understand?!" He snarled and I do not know why but I nodded.

I was about to say something when he started to walk away.

"Ace!" I called out and he suddenly stopped on his track but he did not look back at me.

"Don't bother me again Louella because you will never like what I'll do to you when you mess with me again." He stated and with that, he left me.

I was not able to speak again and I just watched him leave. I was pulled out of trance when I felt my phone vibrated on my pocket. I took my phone out and turned off the alarm clock that I have set a while ago. It is now fifty five minutes past seven o'clock and I need to attend my classes now.

I breathed heavily before striding towards our classroom. Meg is already sitting on her chair and she immediately smiled at me the moment she saw me but I could not return her smile.

As soon as I reached my table, I placed my backpack on top of it and sat on my chair. Meg placed her hand on mine and then she stroked it as she looked at me worriedly.

"What happened, Lou?" She asked and I quickly shook my head.

"Then, why do you look so sad?" She questioned as she raised her eyebrow at me.

"It's nothing, Meggy. I'm fine." I replied and she sighed before replying.

"Lou, I've known you for five years already. When have you been sad for no reason?" Meg questioned as she gave me a confused look.

"It's because, I like someone whom I shouldn't like." I mumbled to myself

"Is it Ace?" Meg asked softly and I looked at her as I sighed.

"I know that I shouldn't like him but I just can't control myself. Honestly, I really don't understand myself right now and I don't know what to do." I whispered to her as I ran my fingers on my hair.

"If you really like him and if you want to go after him, I'll support you Lou as long as you're happy." Meg said as she caressed my hand.

"Don't tell Andrei about this, Meg." I said as I looked at her.

"Don't worry, I won't tell him about this yet but you have to promise me, that you will tell him when you are ready." Meg said and I nodded at her before replying.

"Thank you, Meggy." I replied and then I flashed a smile at her.

I never thought that Meg heard what I just said but I am glad that she did. Knowing that Meg is supporting me on this, I was motivated to go after Ace. Whether he will like me or not, I will still show him what I really feel for him.

Hours went by quickly and we are now heading towards our favorite spot. As soon as we reached it, we sat on our usal seats. Andrei is not yet here so we have to wait for him first before we eat.

"He's probably still in class." Meg piped up and I just nodded before replying.

"Probably." I said.

A few moments later, Andrei is finally here and he sat beside Meg which is quite unusual since he always sits beside me.

"Hey, Drei! What's your lunch?" I asked and he just looked away from me.

What is wrong with him?

"Meg, can you share your lunch with me? I forgot to bring mine." Andrei said as he looked at Meg.

Andrei is quite unusual today. He usually asks us to share our lunches with him when he forgot to bring his but this time, he only asked Meg.

"Here, have some vegetables." I said.

I transferred some stir-fried sweet pepper, broccoli and carrot on my lunchbox's lid and then I slid it towards him but he did not take it.

"I'll just take this, Lou. I need some veggies. These are healthful." Meg said as she took the lid and ate the vegetables I placed on it.

"This is so good, Lou." She said as she munched the broccoli and I just smiled at her.

I could not eat properly knowing that Andrei is mad at me. I really do not know why he is giving me a cold shoulder although this is not the first time that he did this to me. He often treats me this way whenever I did something wrong but this time, I am totally clueless as to why he is treating me coldly. I did not do anything wrong and I am sure of it.

"Drei, do we have a problem?" I asked as I placed down my spoon and fork on my lunchbox.

"Why don't you ask that to yourself?" He retorted as he scowled at me.

"Why are you being like this, Drei?" I asked and he stood before answering.

"Ask it to yourself, Louella." He said and he was about to walk out but I caught his arm.

"Drei, tell me what's wrong and don't-" He cut me off.

"Louella, don't talk to me until you realized what you have done." He stated and then he removed my hand on his arm, and with that, he left us.

Andrei is giving me a cold shoulder and he even called me 'Louella' which he only does when he is angry with me. These only mean that he is indeed angry with me and now, I need to settle this misunderstanding before it gets worse.
