He swept her into his arms and down, into the water. Her legs naturally wrapped around his waist, so she was held both by him, and the water. 

He kissed her and he was trembling, even his breath shaking. She trembled too, but with a combination of thrill and tension. The look on his face when he finally opened his eyes and looked at her, traced her hair back from her face, was awe.

"You are… incredible," he whispered, looking at her lips, then back to her eyes. "I do not deserve you. But I am so grateful to have you."

Ayleth's eyes pricked. She was overwhelmed. "I feel so… uncertain. I want to learn, Etan. I want to please you."
