The Boss

Alex is currently readying himself to head in the restaurant which Grey arranged earlier to set up a meeting with their former employees who were all poached by their competitor.

Alex wore a navy blue colored suit which looked extremely good on him. Grey who was in the room was completely rendered speechless by his boss' handsomeness.

His sharp jaw and cheekbones, brooding eyebrows and his gray eyes, his broad shoulders and a completely good physique, Grey was overly jealous of how perfect his boss was.

"Grey what time is my meeting with the CEO of Huyin?" Alexander asked while he wore his silver watch.

"It's at 3 pm Sir, exactly 5 hours from now," answered the Grey.

"The papers?"

"It's all prepared Sir. The lawyers will also accompany us later."

"Thanks Grey," Alexander said.

Alexander fixed his tie and hair and took a final glance on the mirror before he headed out of the mansion and boarded their car.

On their way to their destination, "How was the other thing I asked you to do?" Alexander asked his secretary.

"It's all going smooth Sir," Grey answered.

"Good," Alexander said.

When they arrived at the restaurant, the employees were already there. Grey reserved a table in a very fancy European style restaurant which looked like a castle inside. There were huge chandeliers hanging in the high ceiling, the windows were decorated with beautiful red curtains and the tables were made from one of the most expensive woods in the world called 'Ebony'.

The place gave a feeling of royalty. The restaurant was clearly only for the people in the higher society and Alexander was lavishly showing that he was one by reserving a table from this restaurant.

How extravagant!

There were 13 employees who were seated in a large round table.

Alex who just entered the place received a lot of glances from the people inside.

"He's so handsome OMG!"

"He looks like a prince!"

"Maybe I should get his number later!"

People continued to gossip about Alexander who just ignored them. He headed straight to the table that was arranged for them.

The people on the table suddenly felt a cold chill on their spines as soon as they felt the presence of their former boss.

Alexander sat down on one of the chairs and spoke, "I'll get straight to the point, all of you breached your contracts and I'm here to gather compensations," he told them. He crossed his legs and looked at them apathetically.

"Stated in Section 5 of your contracts, while you are still an employee of Cosche, you can never accept any jobs offered to you and the compensation for this is 100,000…" Alex paused,"...US Dollars." he continued.

Everyone on the table started to panic internally after hearing what Alexander said.

How could they forget about the compensation fee?

"You cannot just ask us to pay that large sum of money! We just wanted to earn more!" one person complained.

"That's right! Have you no heart?" added by one of them.

"I'm a businessman not a saint. I do business and not charity work. If you think my company hasn't provided you enough you are free to go, but of course there are consequences," Alexander answered.

"We were offered triple the salary you give, do you think we can just let that go??" said one of the former employees.

Alexander looked at the employee, "As I've said, if you think my company hasn't provided enough for you, you can go, but bear the consequences," he said, "My lawyers will be here soon to discuss everything, I guess you can just wait for them?" Alexander showed a smirk which made everyone slightly tremble internally.

Alexander's aura was too much for the people around him to handle. He was so intimidating and unapproachable.

"C-can I please say something?" one employee suddenly raised her hand.

"You may," Alex answered.

"But will you please let me go after this?" the woman bravely said.

"Depends," Alexander responded nonchalantly.

The lady suddenly didn't know whether to speak or not to speak. Alexander's response was uncertain.

What if she wasn't left off the hook?

But after some time of thinking, the woman just decided to speak. 100,000 US Dollars wasn't a small amount of money after all.

"There is a mole in the company," the lady said which made Alex raise his brow.

"Continue," Alexander said.

"She was the one who convinced us to take the job offer of Huyin Enterprise," the lady said, "She told us that if we transfer there, she will handle our contracts, we will be paid triple of our salary in Cosche, they will also provide free housing for us and a company car. I was blinded by those good things, that is why I did what I did," the woman bowed her head due to embarrassment.

"Who's the mole?" Alexander's gaze darkened.

"It's the head of the branch, Ms. Lianne. I often see her going out with the CEO of Huyin, and I think that they are having an affair. Ms. Lianne also provides inside information to him from time to time," the woman confessed.

"I see," Alexander smiled. He signalled Grey to come near him and whispered something to his ear before he faced the woman again.

"To fulfill my part of the deal I'll free you," Alexander said to the lady.

"Really?" the woman spoke in glee.

"Yes," Alexander responded.

Upon hearing that, the other people's faces turned sour.

Why haven't they thought of that?

"The rest, of course, needs to pay the compensation fee. The lawyers will be here soon. I'll leave the rest to them. This meal will be my farewell treat. Goodbye," Alex stood up and was about to head out but he suddenly remembered something.

He turned around and spoke once again, "Ah before I forgot," he said, "I think all of you better find a new job already. I'm about to destroy the Huyin Enterprises today," he smiled sweetly to everybody.

"You can't do that! That's our work!" shouted one of the employees.

"Oh I can't?" Alexander scoffed, "Watch me," he gave a cold smile before he turned around to leave the building.

"Grey book us a restaurant, Italian cuisine. I'm hungry," ordered Alexander as he boarded their car.

"Noted Sir," Grey responded. He already knew what to do and didn't need any further instructions from his boss.

After 15 minutes they arrived at the restaurants Grey reserved.

"Buongiorno signori, how may I help you?" greeted the person in the entrance.

"Reservation for Mr. Grande," Grey said.

"This way Sir," the attendant led them to their seats and handed them the menu.

"May I take your orders Signori?" the waiter asked.

"Two orders of Bucatini all'Amatriciana and two glasses of Sangiovese," Alexander ordered.

"Is that all Sir?" asked the waiter.

"Yes," Alexander responded. The waiter left them immediately to inform the kitchen of their orders

While waiting for their food, Grey busied himself by fixing Alexander's schedule on his tablet while Alex played with his phone.

"Reservation for Ms. Peirce please."

"This way Ma'am."

Alexander, who was busy with his phone, caught something on his peripheral vision. He immediately stopped what he was doing and turned his head to look.

It was her.

The lady from the plane.

She was with a woman and they were headed to the table behind him.

"Grey, switch seats with me," Alexander suddenly said.

"Sir?" Grey frowned. He was confused by Alexander's sudden request.

"I said switch seats with me," Alexander repeated.

Grey who was still puzzled had no choice but to stand up and switch places with Alexander.

Due to curiosity, he observed Alexander and noticed that his eyes were stuck on something behind him. He turned around and saw someone familiar sitting behind him.

Grey understood immediately why his boss wanted to switch places with him and silently chuckled.
