Chapter 9: College resumption 1

Awaking this morning to hear the chirping of the birds outside, i could already tell without opening my eyes that there was clear skies outside or else we wouldn't have birds flying around.

I opened my eyes but quickly closed them due to the ray of the sun reflecting into my room through the window.

Trying to adjust my eyes to the light in the room, I finally opened them and too a glance around my room.

"Hmmm, every where looks more beautiful than last night", I said to myself, feeling blissful and ecstatic about the changes around me.

I unlocked my phone to call my mom and to also ask about dad. About to dial my mom's line, her call came up and I smiled.

"Hello mom, good morning", I greeted, smiling. "Hello Maya, morning to you too and how are you doing?", mom asked.

"Great mom", I answered and heard her chuckled. "I bet you love it there and are ready to forget about this poor mother of yours soon, don't you", mom asked again and I burst into laughter.

"No mom, that should be the least you should expect from me, you know how much I love you don't you?", I asked to hear her grin.

"Hmm...", I heard mom hummed, pretending to think and I fell for it. " C'mon mom, was about to call you before your call came through", i said, to make her feel better.

"Wow, that's some mother and daughter connection working together don't you think?", mom asked and I smiled.

"Yes mom, of course. What of Mr Williams?", I asked referring to my dad. " Your Dad's fine Amaya, he said to greet you once I get through to you".

"Humm, okay, I sent him a text yesterday when we arrived but nevertheless, my regards to him". "Sure baby".

After some minutes, we finished our conversation and said our goodbyes. The journey of yesterday still has me sore all over so I took my bath and dressed up.

Getting to the dining, I couldn't find Ann there so I couldn't easily tell that she slept in.

"The most ladies woman I've ever met and known all my life, stop sleeping and get out of that room", I said, approaching her door.

On reaching there, I knocked but had no response so I called her line and kept in banging the door. "Annnn... Annabelle White, opennn...", i yelled, purposely knocking and shouting to disturb her.

I didn't spend up to three minutes before I heard the door unlock. "Maya why?", said Ann, sulking. "Why what?, don't tell me you want to sleep your eyes out?", I asked, dragging her into the bathroom.

"Was still enjoying my beauty sleep Maya, whyyyyy...??!!!", she said, stressing the why, almost sobbing and I chuckled.

"Stop been lazy sis, let's grab breakfast and go get a full spa body treatment", I said to see her sleepy face shone in excitement. Giggling, she said, "my goodness Maya, that's why I love you", hugging me, she added, "what a brilliant idea even i myself haven't thought about".

"That's because you have been sleeping Annie, you were busy sleeping so you couldn't come up with that".

Slightly pushing her into the bathroom, I said; "now go have your bath so we can take breakfast and be on our way".

"Alright, you don't have to nag about it", she said pouting.

Few minutes after Ann dressed up, we had mac and cheese and got ready to leave.

"Please drive Maya, I'll have to take a nap while you drive", Ann pleaded, yawning, so i agreed.

After about thirty minutes, we got to the spa venue and entered the building.

"Good day Misses, how may we serve you?", the receptionist asked. "We've come here to relax, kindly gives us your best treatments", I replied since Ann was busy taking pictures.

"Alright misses, kindly take your seats please, I'll call someone to come attend to you. A minute please", she said again and we took our seats.

"I just made a call now. You would be attended to soon. It wasn't up to two minutes she made the call that a lady approached us. "This way please", she said and we followed.

The time was five minutes pass 11am, the sun was still up but the spa smelled like flowers and everyone where was cool.

The spa was a big one with different posters and flowers. We were taken upstairs which was where we were attended to.

In no time, the treatment began and we started with a massage. "Ahhh.... so nice", I confessed as I felt relaxed and relieved.

"Nice idea Maya, you're the best", Ann praised, clearly enjoying the moment just like me.

I chuckled and felt the muscles at the back of my neck relax. I really must say; this people know how to do their work perfectly.

They just earned their business a nice review after the whole treatment.

Finishing our treatments fifteen minutes pass one, we decided to stop by a nice restaurant we saw while driving along the road this morning.

"That reminds me Maya", Ann began, chewing her beef. "What is it Ann?", I asked taking a sip of my juice.

" We haven't tour around the town yet and resumption is in two days time. You know how busy that would be, couple with the fact that we're begining resunption with enrollment", she finally said, after swallowing her chewed beef.

Finishing up my meal, I replied; " so true baby, that's one of the reasons we need each other for, so what are we gonna do now?, what's the plan?".

"We tour tomorrow", Ann said. After giving it a thought, i agreed. We finished our food and left the restaurant.

With Ann driving, I had time to think about the various things on my mind. "Now you're in college Maya, what next?", I asked myself.

We got home at around few minutes after three. Tomorrow needs to be prepared for, I thought yawning.

Thanks to the massage I had, I could now relax with a bubble bath in my bath tub. After my bath I went ahead to prepare my things in preparation of tomorrow's town.

Night came and we had dinner. We talked about various things and how to begin tomorrow's tour.

Good thing we decided to have a tour guide. 'Tomorrow's gonna be fun', was the last statement on my mind before I dozed off to dreamland.

My 7:00 am alarm rang this morning and I yawned before turning it off with closed eyes. "Today is touring day", I heard a whisper in my ear and I suddenly froze.

Scared to my bone marrow, i reluctantly turned my neck to the left side where the whisper came from and I opened my eyes gently, hoping and praying to God it wasn't a zombie or whatever horror stuff that happens in horror movies.

Opening my eyes gently, what I saw left me cursing. With ears literally removing smoke and eyes blazing of fire, I yelled, cursing; "what the f*ck Ann...!!!, you scared the sh*t out of me".

Saying that, Ann started laughing with teary eyes, almost rolling on the floor. "C'mon Maya, i can't believe you got so scared, did you have a nightmare to get so scared?", she asked, still laughing.

Rolling my eyes at her question, I replied; "I didn't have a nightmare but the least thing I expected to happen 7:00 am sunday morning is to see someone named Annabelle White on my bed with a beauty mask on", I pursed to see the smile on her face disappear.

"By the way, when did you come in?", I asked.

Sulking, Ann replied, "Sorry Maya, i came into the room because i couldn't sleep for over two hours since i woke up 5:00 am. I just kept on turning back and forth because I was so excited waiting for morning to come so we could go touring", she finally said and I smiled.

"I know how you behave when excited, let's take our bath and go get dressed", I said.

We got dressed and called our town guide. Leaving home at 9:00am, we began our tour at the city center where various things were sold.

I and Ann bougth hotdogs and one of their popular drinks there. We got souvenirs and various memorandums.

We went hiking, took pictures and also went to the park, the zoo is not excluded.

HOURS LATER...

We got home by evening which was fifteen minutes pass 4. Walking into the house with stomach filled of various snacks and foods, we went to our rooms to freshen up.

There is a particular tv series I and Ann watch 5:00 pm every Sunday. Bringing the popcorn and drinks into the living room, Ann sat beside me and we began the program.
