Chapter 15 : Indeed a mistake.

While I was in class, paying attention to the lecturer, my phone vibrated on the table. A quick glance at the screen told me it was a text from Mr. Cary.
Taking my phone, I placed it under the table just to check his message. I didn’t want to be caught by the lecturer. Clicking on his message, it read, ‘I’m in Santa Monica now, Della. You can come over to the house so that we can talk. I got something for you too.’
My curiosity was heightened when I read the last part of his text.
‘He got something for me? What could it be?’ I wondered. I looked up and realized that the lecturer was finishing the class already. Perfect timing.
When the lecturer turned to leave, I threw my books into my bag. In one swift movement, I swung my bag over my shoulder, ready to leave.
“Della, are you leaving already? We have another class after this, remember?” Dave said after noticing that I was prepared to leave.
