Loving Jace

I could have fallen for anybody else.......Hell, I could have fallen for the mailman who always had spinach stuck in his teeth or the old man who lives across and was always watering his barren garden. But no, I had to fall for Jace Cameron, my next door neighbour who hated my guts.

Chapter 2

As mum revved up her engine, a lone tear slipped out of my eyes. Looking at our small bungalow, our garden and the small white picket fence surrounding it, I felt like bolting out of the car and hiding away in my room. I was drawn out of my thoughts as mum wiped my tear with her right pointer finger and squeezed my hands in love. She offered me a small smile which I returned. Seeing my smile, she nodded and then placed both hands on the steering wheel and drove away. I kept in looking back until our house became just a tiny dot in the distance. Thinking back, I didn't have many friends but I was going to miss Los Angeles a lot, I had received few goodbye cards and presents from my classmates who cared about me.

I kept zoning in and out of my thoughts until we reached the airport. After going through the security shit and all, we eventually entered the plane after our flight number was called. Although this wasn't the first time I would fly a plane, I wasn't a huge fan of it, in fact I preferred all other forms of transportation to air. *Stop looking at me like I just band eating of chocolates, I don't just like flying*. Slipping a mint candy into my mouth, I took my phone out and changed the settings to airplane mode *not that I was expecting any call from anybody.....you got it right, lonely me*.

It was only when my mum woke me up and informed me that we had landed, did I realise I had slept through the whole journey. I wasn't bothered at all, as it wasn't like there were beautiful skyscrapers in the sky that I could stare at. I tell you, forming shapes form clouds for a long period of time can get you crazy, so I was actually glad I slept through the flight. We exited the terrifying plane, got our bags and weaved our way through the airport traffic to take a taxi to the house mum got few weeks ago in Toronto. *Did I forget to tell you that Toronto is also freaking large?, maybe I was cursed with staying or rather, residing in large cities*.

Dumping our bags into the taxi's boot, we hopped into it and driver sped off. As we moved, I stared at the city, looking out the window like a kid in a candy store. Toronto is really beautiful. I was still in awe, when the driver pulled into a neighbourhood with a signpost located at the gate. Through the post, I knew that I was going to be living in Bay street. The drive through the street and past cute family houses took about 3 minutes before the taxi finally pulled into a driveway and stopped.

"Wao!"

Mum turned to me when she heard my gasp, she tried to hide her triumphant smile but I saw and knew that she was trying her best to make me happy again. For this, I loved her more. Not even trying to get my luggage,I opened the door and sped walk to the beautiful white house standing proudly before me. In all honesty, the house was of the same structure and colour as the other houses on the lane but the presence of a well tended garden made the house more beautiful than rest.(I hope there was no ghost in the house, because who the hell tended the garden before we came). It took a while before my brain sent information back to me that we probably had a caretaker. *Silly me* I loved gardens, not that I always took care of one anyway.

Looking around for the key, I saw a white envelope on the window sill to the left, I took it and tore it open in haste and out fell the house key. There was a note there but I was less concerned, that was mum's headache. I unlocked the door and stepped into a lighter hallway which led to a furnished sitting room. *wait a minute, furnished?, this was freaking great!*.
