Eleanor pov:

Eleanor! Eleanor! My mother shouted my name waking me up from sleep. Yes mum, what is it this early morning? Why are you shouting my name? I asked after coming out from my room to answer her call. Did you just ask me that question? Everything is the problem, she replied. Mum I don't quite get you what actually happened? What is this time around? I know everything is the problem but, I'll appreciate it if you come out clearly. I am sure you wouldn't have made so much fuss because of nothing I replied. I guess you are confused. Well, let me introduce myself to you properly.

My name is Eleanor, I am 24 years old and it's been four years since my graduation from the university with no work. Not that I haven't seen any work, but I haven't seen any that is decent; Is either the manager of the company asking me to sleep with them before I can be given the work, or that I join them in tricking their customers for more profits which is against my standards.

I come from a poor background, I have four other siblings that I follow after me. My dad, Mr Williams, is dead. He died when my mum was pregnant with the last child " Roseline". And since then, we've been feeding from hand to mouth. The company that my father worked for before his death, took it upon themselves to train me in school as a reward for my father's hard work when he was with them. So now, I am done with school with no work and as the first child, I have a lot of responsibilities which includes taking care of my mum and younger siblings but I can't be able to do all that without getting a job first which has become a great deal of trouble for me. On the other hand, my mum, Mandy", has decided to make things worse for me. She kept on scolding and nagging me over every damn thing; just like today. She keeps reminding me of how useless I am to her as a daughter, always cursing and hating me every now and then.

Eleanor, you dare ask me what the matter is? Don't worry, I will tell you cause I don't know why I will have a grown up daughter like you in this house and yet be humiliated all the time because of money that my daughter should I've been giving me. Well, like you said let me come out clearly the landlord just handed me a quit notice my mum answered as she handed the papers to me. Omg! This is not happening, what am I going to do now mum? I was so sad. What else am I going to do other than to work hard for the money before the three weeks he gave us to vacate expires. That's what happens when I have a useless child who has refused to help my mum replied spitefully. Mum, how can you say that I don't want to help? For goodness seek am trying all my best or, do you want me to steal or probably sell my body in order to help you out? I asked with so much anger. Do anything Eleanor I said so far as it will remove this shame from me. I don't mind. Moreover, your mates are married already and you are still here with no purpose in life she hissed and walked out on me. I didn't know what to do again. I slumped on the sofa in despair. How can my mum say that to me? Where did self dignity and good morals come from? Well, even mum wants me to compromise my standards in order for us to live a life of affluence. I won't do that because my dignity is important to me. With that, I quickly went into my room, carried my bags and all that I had and left. Let me go and fend for myself, stop being an added burden to them, and to get back my sanity before my mum's daily nagging makes me lose the reason for my existence. Before I left, I wrote a letter for her, and also transferred the money I was saving in the bank from the little business I do to her for the payment of the house rent. I don't know where exactly to go but then, I remembered a friend of mine that lives in country B. With the last money I have left, I quickly boarded a train to her place.

Author's pov:

Jessy! How was school today? Mr Parker asked his five years old daughter who has just returned from school as she was picked up by his driver straight to his dad's office. It was fine dad but I have a question for you little Jessy answered. Go on dear, I am all hears his father replied. Our teacher told us today that there would be nothing like children in the world if there was no father and mother; so I was thinking of how I came about since I don't have a mother, she asked. Mr Parker was shocked at her question and didn't know what to say. Jessy, can't you see that your daddy is busy? Why bother him with questions...Ashton, Mr Parker's personal assistant and friend, interfered on his behalf. Well dad said…I could ask him…Jessy muttered aloud. Yes dear but good children should not disturb their father when he is at home Ashton replied. Little Jessy looked from his father then to Ashton. Come I have something to show you Ashton said holding her hands and taking her away. As they left, Mr Parker heaved a sigh of relief Ashton deserved his thanks for being a savior to him.

Mr parker's pov:

I really can't love again not after facing many heart breaks from five different ladies up to the one that gave birth to Jessy.
