Chapter 7: Beautiful Voice
Back at home, Su Ning sat in her room and she began to think. Her previous body's appearance was not even half as pretty as her current body's appearance however she used to have a very nice singing voice. She liked to learn about music online and sing whenever she's working late at home. Though she loved to sing, she didn't bother to pursue that career and opted for something more practical. She had a plain appearance and music is a pipe dream for the majority of people without proper backing and luck.
However, if she is able to use the techniques she learned in her past life and consider her countless hours of 'practice', as long as the original body's voice is not bad Su Ning will not end up humiliating herself. Su Ning tried to softly sing a few tunes and was dumbfounded. 'Shit! This body's voice is way better than mine. Tone, pitch control, range are all better! And the sound is so unique!' Upon making this discovery, Su Ning wondered why the original body spent all her time playing dress-up games?
After finding out about her talent, Su Ning was quite optimistic for the school's talent show. She decided to choose a piece to perform and began to prepare a practice schedule. She is also planning to see if there is a room in school that she could use. Su Ning looked through her closet and saw that she mostly had frilly princess type dresses so she made a note to shop for clothes with Mother Qin.
After dinner, Su Ning took a shower then spent most of her time doing her homework and reviewing notes during her leave. Her goal is to eventually finish in the top 10 of her grade by the end of the school year!
On Saturday morning, she was woken up early by Mother Qin who was wearing her Sunday best. The latter worked as a housekeeper at the Gu Mansion on Mondays - Fridays. She typically comes back after cooking dinner for the family. Sometimes the family will ask her to help cook some meals over the weekend when there are guests over. Today, Old Madam Gu particularly misses Mother Qin's beef bone soup so they are coming a bit earlier to do their greetings and will stay for lunch.
This is a relatively important event for the Su Family who would be dining with their employers. Su Ning chose a plain white dress from her closet and tied her hair up in a ponytail with a yellow ribbon. She had white sandals on and her entire outfit gave off a beautiful but innocent look. Father Su was waiting by the living room while black wearing slacks and a white button down shirt. By 9:30am the family of three were ready and set off to the Gu Mansion.
