27 Chapter 27: Good House-Husband

After a short 10 minute drive, Gu YuChen parked his black Bentley and walked into a luxury apartment nearby M Academy. Grandma Gu was currently on her weeklong annual temple sojourn at G City so Su Ning decided to stay over at Gu YuChen's new place in the meantime. It was around 6:30pm by the time Gu YuChen entered the front door of the apartment.

He was soon greeted with a quick hug by Su Ning. "Gu YuChen, I feel like you grew again." Su Ning tilted her pretty face and her brows furrowed. "Mm. I'm back. Did you miss me." Gu YuChen smiled at Su Ning as he asked. "I always miss you." Came the girl's quick reply, "More importantly, you grew again, Gu YuChen." Su Ning said almost accusingly. "How can a kid grow 10 cm in 3 years?! 185 cm! I only grew 6m! We eat the same things!" Gu YuChen couldn't help but give a short chuckle at her petulant expression. He had been busy at work and school and Su Ning was also preoccupied with her studies to test into M Academy so this is the first time they had met in 2 months. Gu YuChen felt Su Ning had grown even more attractive in the time they hadn't seen each other. Soon, it will be impossible to hide her beauty.

Su Ning was still staying at Old Madam Gu's mansion while he purchased and moved into this apartment 3 months ago. It was all part of his plan; however, he cannot help but feel lonely living by himself in the apartment for 3 months. This place was only 10 minutes away from his office and also a 5 minute walk to M Academy. Gu YuChen made sure the apartment was furnished to Su Ning's preference. She is the type who loves the comfort and coziness of Danish Hygge best. To his expectations, Su Ning happily accepted the room he offered to her upon seeing the decor and furnishings.

Gu YuChen took off his suit and began to unbutton the cuffs and fold the sleeves of his light blue dress shirt. Su Ning went to grab the brown apron from the pantry to hand over to Gu YuChen only to have him stoop down in front of her. With a slight shake of her head Su Ning, obediently hooked the apron over his head and proceeded to tie the straps around his slim fitted waist. Gu YuChen somehow really liked to have this service done for him before he would cook. He patted her head as thanks causing Su Ning to purse her lips as she trotted back to the kitchen counter.

Gu YuChen began to pull ingredients from the fridge and busied himself in the kitchen. "Lin JinYan?" a male voice suddenly asked. "His family called him back for dinner. His big sister is arriving from London today." Su Ning answered as she settled on the counter seats. "Gu YuChen, I am hungry. What's for dinner?" she added. "Be good. I'll make the food you like."Gu YuChen said in a calm deep voice. 'Aiii he always says that when he doesn't want me to keep bothering him hmph!' Su Ning decided to look through her emails and decided to respond to the tutoring job HeadTeacher Song offered. Since the job will start in a few weeks it will be a good source of pocket money.

Su Ning celebrated inwardly when Mother Qin finally allowed her to begin doing part time work; the latter previously thought she was too young for any side jobs but Su Ning had remained insistent. In actuality, Su Ning invested all of the allowance money Grandma Gu and her family have given her into mutual funds. Instead, she opted to apply for school scholarships and used those funds as her pocket money for school and for hanging out with friends. 'When I come of age at 18, I should be able to have enough money saved up to rent an apartment near university. It will be great if I can get a partial scholarship as well so I only need to take one part time job. It will definitely be a lot less busy compared to my past life.' Su Ning mused with a smile.

In a short while, Gu YuChen had prepared 2 meat dishes, a vegetable dish and a soup dish for them to eat. "Ohh delicious! My dear YuChen-Gege will make a good house husband!" Su Ning teased. Gu YuChen coughed slightly covering his mouth upon hearing her endearment. This bad girl only calls him YuChen Gege or My dear when it involves food not knowing he only ever cooks for her. The tips of his ears slightly red, Gu YuChen quickly turned Su Ning's attention to the food. "Eat. Or the food will get cold."

"Yes! Yes!" "Oh did Lin JinYan tell you. We will be going to his villa in H City for my birthday? Or will you be too busy with work to come?" Su Ning asked as she began to dig in the meal. "I will come." was Gu YuChen's succinct response. Su Ning smiled at Gu YuChen who has always been a man of a few words. The rest of the dinner was spent in comfortable silence.
