Chapter Thirteen - Knight's Skeleton

ADIAN'S POV

Gazing around the restaurant as I awaited Ms. Sullivan, who, in the next two hours. would be my f***ring wife. I detest that word.

Once I wanted to be a husband, having a gorgeous sexy wife beside me. Now she and all beautiful women like her have taught me that with good looks, comes dirty tricks.

This, Ms. Sullivan is late and I've plans to berate her in front of everyone here, that is if she comes. Hope suddenly flickers in my heart, maybe she'll be a no show.

Smiling, finally happy since I was given my sentence to life imprisonment. My eyes continues to roam, stopping on the gorgeous beauty slowly walking nervously behind the sexy hostess who was flirting with me earlier.

Gazing with eyes only on her, mentally willing her to look at me. As if hearing me through telepathy, her eyes met mines widening in recognition, with a small smile starting to curve on her pink luscious lips.

With grey eyes gazing around my table, she abruptly stops as her eyes flickers back to mines, staring with a slightly open mouth and eyes widening at me as if a bulb seem to light up in her head.

I instantly turned to Knox, only realizing that he was gazing at her with admiration and a genuine hearty smile. Oh f***ring God!

Tensing up, clenching my fists in anger, as the bulb in my head now lights up.

It's her, Hailey, Hailey Sullivan. Like an ass, I didn't ask them her full name.

Looking back at her, the hostess turns around, no doubt speaking to Hailey As if in a daze, Hailey looks at her, then at me, before looking back st the hostess, nodding with a small smile.

The closer she gets to the table the more agitated I got, still not understanding why. For a moment I was excited to see her again and realizing now that she is my soon to be wife, I felt an instant dislike for her.

As she reaches our table, Knox pulls her into an embrace as she stood still, seemingly emotionless.

I got up announcing to no one on particular, "I need a drink" not needing permission, I moved to walk in the direction of the bar.

"Can you bring me back a glass of bubbly, please?" the voice I have been wishing to hear for the past two weeks asks shyly.

Do I look like a waiter? I wanted to ask, but all I did was walk away.

I ordered a whiskey and sat down debating if I should get her champagne. bubbly my ass.

I downed the glass of whiskey instantly reordering another one as the burning sensation awakens the fire and determination to fight my family and this, this Sullivan girl, my new worst enemy.

Ordering the f***ring champagne, and a third glass of whiskey, I returned to the table as my mother stood before a seated Ms Sullivan. everyone rather tensed.

Placing the champagne glass directly in front of her, caused her to look up at me. Her eyes shimmering with tears, her lips trembling as she tries to hold herself together.

She picks up the glass, chugging it down. "excuse me, I need to use the bathroom" she says to my mother nervously by with a small smile.

She gets up, planting a peck on my mom's cheeks, with a light hug, she turns staring at me for a brief moment, with an apologetic look. Picking up her empty glass, she walks in the direction if the bathroom. As she walked off, I fought the urge to go after her but the slam of my father's hand on the table and with pure hate and anger in his eyes as he stares at mom.

I quietly sat back down and like everyone else at the table I waited for princess Sullivan.

"You know what just happen right?" my father rages softly at mom.

Tears started running down her cheeks, "I need to make this right. She belongs here, please" she pleads with my father.

I stood up wrapping my arms around mom as uncle Jerry stood up angrily, "this shit needs to stop" he addresses mom.

She started whimpering quietly in my arm's, with uncle Jerry snickering sarcastically at her.

"I hope she f***ring remembers and get your ass back down there" pointing at the chair she just vacated.

Ready to turn on him "and you stay out of this" he warns me.

Mom and I returned to our seats with everyone looking tense.

"The Knights skeletons continues to rake havoc in the family" Chubbs said sipping her juice.

"I need to use the bathroom" Chubbs said as she got up walking away.

Chuckling without any humor, "must run in the family" uncle Jerry says, emptying his glass while signaling a waiter.

My father shakes his head, ordering a bottle of our favourite whiskey when the waiter came and I ordered two bottles of their finest champagne. It's my wedding after all.

The waiter returned with our order but the ladies were still in the bathroom.

"I wonder what's keeping them so long?" I asked myself.

"Sisterly bonding" my father mutters causing my mom to quickly stand up a bit unsteadily.

Without uttering a word my mom walks off while I poured myself another drink.

Uncle Jerry looked wearily at my father, while I wonder what the f*"k is going on.I know for a fact that something is wrong.

"We need to start ordering because I'm hungry" I said to Knox.

Ten minutes later, the three ladies returned, mom seriously quiet, Chubbs smiling with Ms Sullivan smiling brighter. As she takes the chair next to me, I realize she f***ring tipsy.

Turning to look at Chubb's, realizing that she definitely had more than one of whatever.

My eyes wonder back Ms Sullivan as Mr. Knox started introducing her around the table.

F**k I'm next!
