Love Unfolding

Be brave enough to take off the mask you’ve been wearing and be who you are underneath. I think in life, happiness comes from deciding to follow your heart over your fears. So, let’s follow Kaileen Andy Lewis together with Erika Leigh Parlam in their journey through depths of finding, accepting and loving themselves despite the views and opinions of others simply because they view the world from a lens of impossible. Chapter 36

viLelouch's POV

"Hello Stacey, yeah—" Kevin was on the phone.

"Sorry, I have to ditch you on our dinner date tonight. Something came up."

He was on his way to his date his father arranged for him.

The call he just received from Donna troubled him. The girl sounded alarmed and worried. He just can't brush it off since it's about his sister.

Stepping on the gas, he turned his car and headed to Andy's apartment.

As he entered the room, he heard his sister's cry coming from the bedroom.

He rushed to check what's going on for he had never heard that kind of cry before. It's as though ripping his heart and squeezing his soul.

But what greeted him was a messy room with canned beers around and the back of Donna hugging his sister on floor.

He took a step forward but the sound of another loud cry stopped him and so decided to leave the room.

He leaned on the wall outside near the open door, enough to eavesdrop on both of them.

Intently listening as the conversation progressed, the strength of his feet left him.

He slid down his body and found himself seated on the floor. Also, tears ran down his cheeks.

That was his first tear for a long time now.

His last was when he was still a kid.

He's been building himself to be strong and has been trying not to show any weakness at all but he was taken off guard of what he'd just discovered.

His jaw tightened, suppressing his emotion.

Then a surge of rage envelop him.

He can't just accept everything. His mind became clouded.

He was insisting in the back of his mind that his sister was just confused and became delusional.

That he needed to put some sense to her head.

So he mustered his strength and went inside but—

But the two seemed lost in their surroundings that they were still not aware of his presence.

Then the flair of rage in his face was replaced with compassion. It's as if it melted away at the sight of his sister.

His sister looked pitiful in his eyes. She was a mess. It's a look he'd never seen before.

He gritted his teeth and hardened his expression as he finally spoke.

"I'LL TAKE HER HOME."

He could paint the horror in their expression as both girls turned their gazes at him.

[**********]

Kevin drove silently as he took his sister home. Andy has been glancing at her brother trying to open up the conversation but was not able to do so until they reached home.

Entering the living room, Andy uttered a word finally.

"Brother—"

Kevin turned to look at her with a dull eyes.

"Get some sleep," then went to his room.

On that night, Kevin drowned himself to drink until sleep knocked him down.
