The corners of Kyle's mouth twitched. "I came all the way here, and now you're shooing me home without even treating me to a meal?" he retorted.

Emily could only look away in this awkward situation. She couldn't possibly come to a decision at a time like this.

"Why'd you invite yourself over when this could be said over the phone? You should get your own brain checked, Doc," Ronald ridiculed without holding back.

Kyle felt his blood starting to boil. It wasn't until a while later that he calmed his nerves and mocked him back, "I'm here to check YOUR brain. If it weren't for what you did, I wouldn't even have to come all the way here in the first place."
