Chapter 37 See You Around, Senior!

Emily lowered her gaze and immediately felt a twang of regret. Operation 'Mr. Chavez' was still ongoing, so dragging Leah into the mix would definitely add to her troubles now.

But if she didn't get her to come over now, she'd need to find another excuse to meet with Alfred in a few days time. She was sure things would get awkward if he turned her down by then.

Emily put her phone on the table and lowered her head. She rubbed her temples to relieve her frustration.

But her phone rang shortly after.

She was shocked to see that Alfred was calling her. She looked at the man sitting at a distance and hesitated whether she should answer or not.

The man pointed at his ear, motioning for her to pick up the call.

She felt like she couldn't refuse. She obliged and answered in a hushed voice, "Yes, senior?"

"What's wrong? Are you still worried about what happened yesterday? Need my help?" he asked in his normal voice which was like ear candy to her.
