Chapter 12 I'm Not Lying!

Emily felt a chill run down her spine down to the bottom of her soul in the warm and humid bathroom. She felt like she had been stabbed in the heart by the person she treasured the most. She didn't think it'd come to this at all. She thought that a man as smart as he was would be able to dissect her lie. Apparently she was wrong, and she couldn't believe that he had said that to her. 

After staring at him for a whole ten seconds, she lowered her head and looked into his eyes. "I'm not lying. The incident today didn't even cross my mind, be it the news... or why I'm here," she said with a tinge of bitterness laced in her words.

The man's frown and grip on her chin both tightened. "Did you really feel sick on the film set that day?" he asked in a deep voice with his eyes narrowed.

Her pupils shrunk and her heart started beating like crazy .
