Chapter 20

Epsilon and Maximus were sitting in a circle inside the gym. Today is their hand to hand manual combat.

"Today, I have a different strategy. I have in here your names and here are papers with only a number 1 in one of these." Drew said holding two boxes. "When you pick the paper with a number 1, then you'll be the first who will pick your opponent. The winner of the first duel will pick his opponent and so on so forth. Until we have the last two standing." Drew said continuously.

"For you to give your all, the winner will have his or her three days vacations with one of his or her comrade of choice. You will spend your three days on your chosen destination, all expenses will be shoulder by the camp." Drew said that made them excited.

"You should not participate in here, Drew." Dylan said.

"And why, I want a vacation too." Drew said.

"You're unfair. We know that you can defeat all of us here." Dylan said making Drew's brows raised.

"I'm challenging you, so do your best. Besides, what if one day, you'll be dealing with a criminal who's fighting skills are better than me?" Drew said.

"Let her be, Dylan. Maybe, today is not her lucky day." Chase said with a devilish grin. Epsilon and Maximus shouted with teasing tones.

"Let's see." Drew said that made the rest shouted again.

Drew let them picked the papers, wherein, there's only one with a 1 on it. All of them were feeling agitated. They were perspiring and wishing that they won't pick the paper with a 1 on it. Drew said, beforehand, that they will open the paper all at once.

"So, let's do it." Drew said and altogether, they opened the paper.

"Yes!" All of them said relieved. They looked at each other to see who got the number 1 and all of them saw Barry still holding the paper.

"So Barry, you start." Drew said smiling. Barry sighed.

"Why me?" Barry said.

"I want a vacation too." Barry continued.

"Big sis, I know you will win, please choose me." Barry said pleading that made Drew laughed.

"Then, show me what you've got." Drew said winking at him.

"Okay, okay." Barry said happily.

"By the way, your duel will be timed." Drew said.

"One minute." Drew continued.

"What!?" They all spoke at once.

"Give me your best shot." Drew said that made all of them sighed, of course, Chase wasn't bother.

"Pick your opponent." Drew said. Barry got a paper from the box and was happy to see who he picked. Barry gave the paper to Drew and she read it.

"Glenn." Drew said and Glenn could only scratched his head.

"Goodbye vacation." Glenn said that made all of them laughed.

Amongst the Maximus members, Barry is the strongest of them all and Glenn knew even he will give his 101% still, he could not defeat Maddog.

And after a minute, as expected by Glenn, he was defeated.

Barry happily picked again from the box but his overwhelming joy faded.

"Goodbye vacation. Big sis, you're my only hope now." Barry said giving her the paper. Drew smiled seeing who it was.

"You can do it." Drew said patting Barry's shoulders. The rest were curious who Barry picked for his next duel.

"Can I already admit my defeat?" Barry said.

"Of course not! When you're in a mission, you can't retreat without saving the lives at stake. You should protect and save lives even if you lose your own life. That was our motto when you became an elite force. Am I right, Barry?" Drew said seriously.

"Yes." Barry said in a low voice.

"You try, what if you win?" Drew asked.

"I hope so." Barry said.

"Okay, if you win this duel, I will bring you to my vacation if I win." Drew said that made Barry's spirit lifted.

"Okay!" Barry said.

"Senior, let's start." Barry said that made Chase smiled brightly.

Before Chase approach Barry for their duel, he walked towards Drew.

"Prepare yourself. If I win all the duels. I will bring you to my vacation." Chase whispered to Drew's ears and just like before, it sent shivers to her body and she blushed.

The people with them didn't hear what Chase said but because of the redness on Drew's face they have an idea what it is.

"In your dreams!" Drew said pushing Chase who laughed happily.

"Barry, remember, the vacation, okay?" Drew said that made Barry nodded vigorously.

"Senior, can you please let me win this?" Barry said with a pleading look.

"I also want my vacation too so, give me your all if you want that vacation too." Chase said challenging Barry.

"Okay!" Barry said.

Drew was praying that Barry will win but to her dismay, Barry lost. Chase looked at her.

"One down." Chase said smiling devilishly. Drew only gave him an angry squint.

The duels went on. Spencer, Harley, Flynn, Shawn, Damon, and Lou tried their best to defeat Chase but they were all unsuccessful. They all admired Chase's fighting skills and they could say, he really deserve to be the second in command.

"So, there are only two left." Chase said looking at Dylan and Drew.

"If you want you can fight me at once." Chase said proudly.

"Don't be to overbearing. I won't chose Dylan to be the second in command if he can't fight me head to head." Drew said looking at Dylan who's smile was very bright hearing his Alpha's praise.

Chase picked from the box and opened it. He smiled and looked at Drew.

"Dylan." Chase said. Dylan stood up and walked towards Chase.

"He's tired. I can easily defeat him." Dylan said inwardly.

"Dylan!" Drew shouted that made Dylan became nervous.

"You should win, understand!?" Drew said with firmness on her voice that made Dylan gulped. Chase smiled.

But to Dylan's surprise even though, Chase fought almost all of them, he's skills didn't change. Chase can still dodge from his attacks.

Chase, on the other hand, applauded Dylan's fighting skills.

"Your Alpha trained you well." Chase said while avoiding Dylan's attack.

"Yeah, with her blood and sweat, she thought us everything we knew." Dylan said while giving strikes to Chase.

"Yeah, but still, you can't defeat me." Chase said seriously.

"Let's see." Dylan said and gave a straight punch to Chase but the latter avoided it again.

One minute ended. They were all engrossed on Chase and Dylan's duel that made them not aware of the time. When the bell rang, they came back to their senses but the two men standing at the center of the gym were still fighting. Lou looked at Drew signaling her to inform the two that the one minute time limit was finished but Drew only shook her head saying, "Let them be". Both men were sweating profusely but still, none of them wants to end the duel.

"You're really great, Senior." Dylan said panting.

"So are you." Chase said also breathing heavily.

"But I guess, I have to finish this duel already. You're Alpha seems to be bored waiting for me." Chase said and in an instant, in Dylan surprised, he was thrown on the ground.

Everyone clapped their hands witnessing a thrilling duel. Chase helped Dylan to stand on his feet and they shook hands. The rest approached the two giving them praises.

"That's all for today. Take your rest and will continue this tomorrow." Drew said that made all of them looked at her with questioning glares particularly, Chase.

"Don't worry, you still have the chance to fight me. I just wanted it to be fair. You looked very tired and I don't want to be unjust." Drew said explaining.

The rest went outside the gym, Drew was still inside arranging her things.

"I still can fight you." Chase said that made Drew jolted especially when Chase was really close to her when she looked back. His sweat made him more handsome. His shirt was wet all over showing his lean muscles. Drew gulped and looked dazedly to Chase that the latter smiled mischievously. Chase encircled his arms on Drew's waist and pulled her closer that made the latter became aware of him.

"What are you doing? Let me go! You're sweating!" Drew said while struggling with Chase's embrace.

"A while ago, you were looking at me as if I'm a specimen under your examination. What happen now? I just helped you to have a better look and you can also touch it." Chase said naughtily. Drew blushed because she was really caught in the act.

"You better rest." Drew said.

"I said I can still fight you." Chase said still embracing her.

"I'm not a masochist." Drew said that made Chase laughed. He released her but stood beside her.
