“There aren’t any pictures,” Mark commented.
“Naw, the guy on the TV news said that The U blocked reporters and cameras from taking any. They said they wanted to protect anyone who was targeted.”
“Good,” Frank said.
Mark looked at Frank. “Phase two, let’s roll.”
The pair got up from the table and went back to their room. Frank called Bill.
“Have you heard?” Bill asked, his voice panicky.
“It’s okay. Trust me. Mark and I have it under control. Can you meet us at the usual pick-up corner in about an hour?”
“You and Mark?” Bill asked.
“Yeah, I’ll explain when we see you. Don’t worry, okay?”
“Okay,” Bill said, but his voice was shaky.
Frank’s next call was to Dennis. “I see you’ve heard the news,” Dennis said. His voice held a note of triumph. “Have you talked with your boyfriend yet?”
“Yes.”
“How’s he taking it?”
“He’s upset. We need to talk.”
