Sophie walked towards the king-size bed and slump down on it. Her body sank into it and she felt like she was sleeping on a cloud. So cozy and comfortable. She did not want to be separated from this heaven.

But such thinking was, after all, a fleeting thought as another knock came from outside the door.

Sophie nearly exploded with fury. She snuggled under the bed sheets stubbornly, paying no attention to the guest outside.

The knock came again and again as Sophie was bent on ignoring the visitor but in the end, she still stood up and went to open the door.

There were not that many people in the house and she did not want to offend any as they would be the ones to accompany her as long as she was here.

Sophie opened the door and saw a fairly pretty lady who seemed to be not more than thirty. She had long blonde hair with a short bang on her forehead. Her clear green Amber eyes and long lashes. She was tall with fair white skin and had a voluptuous body like Kate.

With the maid outfit, she gave an alluring aura that was almost irresistible. No normal male would be able to keep a straight thought if they saw her. Truly, Raymond was nowhere near normal.

"Hello, Miss. My name is Rito Sakura, you can just call me Sakura. I'm here to lead you to the master" The woman said respectfully with a bow.

Sophie has already gotten kind of used to this attitude of theirs so she did not try to persuade Sakura to not address her with such respect.

"Ok, lead the way. I'm Sophie by the way" Sophie said and stepped out of the room.

" Follow me, do you want to use the elevator or the stairs? " Sakura said with a smile after giving her a brief nod.

Sophie was once again shocked. This house had an elevator? Then why did Raymond take her on a half-hour walk through the stairs then?

"No, let's use the stairs" She decided not to be tempted. Only God knows what surprise was awaiting her at the elevator. She already had enough shock for today, she was afraid of her brain shutting down if she received another shock.

The both of them soon arrived on the first floor and following Sakura's lead, they went to the dining hall. Sophie was expecting to see a grand hall like those of Kings used in movies. But what she did not expect was to find a dining hall with such a grand setting; the hall was grander than her grand imagination.

A dining table that was so long that it could contain 20 people on each side, meaning it could serve 40 people at the same time.

A chandelier with huge candles hung from above that was perpendicular to the middle of the table, where a big tray packed with fruits was placed.

The table was made of wood, sealed, and varnish. Shiny silver candelabras with long candles were placed at a meter interval from each other. There was a golden throne-like chair at the head of the table and rows of normal chairs on each side.

Sakura led her to the head of the table where plates, cutleries, and dishes were laid waiting for her.

Sakura pulled out the seat closest to the golden seat for Sophie to sit. Her seat was on the right side.

Sakura stood behind her even after she had already sat down. She had a smile on her face. There were also other maids and a middle-aged man in a chef uniform standing at the side. They all had bright smiles on their faces like they were happy about something.

Sophie could already tell that aside from Raymond who was cold and had a lonely aura. Charles, Sakura, and the rest seem to be genuinely kind to her. Maybe it was because she was the only person that Raymond had brought home?

By the way, why did he have such a huge dining room when he was practically living 'alone'?

Feeling that she would not be able to figure out the reason, she decided not to bother her head over such mysterious matters.

She looked at the bizarre plates of foods on the table that looked so tempting and gave off a mouth-watering aroma, it was not wrong to assume that they had all been made by the most talented Michelin chef in the world.

Were all these made just for one person? For her? Looks like it will take a while before she will be able to get used to the extravagant way of doing things here.

"You are late" An emotionless voice came from behind her. Sophie almost jumped off of her seat. She did not know when Raymond arrived or when he got behind her; she did not even hear a thing!

She turned her neck stiffly and looked up to his face only to meet with a cold glare from the pair of scarlet eyes and a face that was as stern as that of a military instructor. Sophie gulped unconsciously. So scary! Why was he always angry? Did he have a rough childhood?

What even made things harder was that the ice cube was as handsome as a stray God from a myth and his gaze was like that of a creator watching the wrongdoings of his invention. A predictor gazing at its prey; she was the prey!

'He dares to say I am late? Aren't you the one who came last?' Sophie said inwardly but did not dare to say it out.

Raymond seemed to be able to read her thoughts "I've already eaten. Can't you see there's only a share for one person?" He asked as he took his seat at the head of the table.

Sophie suddenly realized why only her seat had dishes set in front of it. So he already ate? Well, that was by the side, what the hell did he mean by there was only a share for one person? These were enough to feed a family of three for a day. There was no way she would be able to finish this by herself! Not even if she was given an entire day!!

"I'm sorry," She said with her head lowered.

Raymond looked at her for a few seconds before looking away "This is your first offense, I won't be so merciful next time. Besides, you don't know the rules yet" He said indifferently like he was explaining how to use chopsticks to a kid.

Sophie stared at his handsome face blankly. Rules? What rules? Is this like those wealthy mischievous husbands in romance novels who had a bunch of rules to make sure that their partner never left?
