Raymond's place

A black Lamborghini was quietly parked on one side of the compound as two figures appeared on both sides of the car.

These two people were Raymond and Sophie and they were at Raymond's place.

Sophie felt like she had stepped into an entirely different world as her eyes roamed her surrounding with sparkling eyes.

The space within the compound was already twice the size of her uncle's place (Kate's dad) with a magnificent three-story mansion settled handsomely at the center of the compound.

Large square-shaped windows were scattered over various parts of the building which allowed enough sunlight to pour inside. The whole building was colored with white paint, giving it a palace-like feel.

Sophie was pulled out of her daydream by the sound of Raymond clearing his throat.

She smiled slightly, feeling a little embarrassed. Why was she here drooling over what was already hers? She had enough time in the world to admire all this sweetness.

She walked slowly but steadily towards Raymond then reached out to wrap her hand over his arm.

Raymond did not mind this gesture so he let her do as she pleased. And just like that, hand in hand, the two people walked towards the door of the beautiful mansion.

"Don't you have any security or people watching your house?" Sophie asked out of curiosity. She had yet to spot a single soul inside his place, even the gate opened on its own.

Since she swore to herself to make Raymond fall in love with her, she had become so bold that she was already treating him so casually.

Raymond glanced at her through the corner of his eyes before looking away, he did not reply and just kept his silence.

Unlike the other big shots in the country, Raymond was more like an anomaly amongst big shots. Being the CEO of one of the most prominent companies, he did not have any bodyguards or escorts who followed him wherever he went, nor did he have any that watched over his house.

As for the reason why he did not have? Well, the answer was pretty simple, he did not need such a crowd following him about.

Seeing how Raymond gave her a cold shoulder, Sophie was confused. Did she offend him with her question?

Neither of them said anything to each other and they finally stepped inside the house in silence.

Sophie was once again swept off her feet by the scene before her eyes.

The living room only left one word on her mind…. lavish!!

The beautiful huge sofas were laid on the crystal clear tiled floor, giving a luxurious rhythm. Beautiful purple chiffon curtains were held by a gold-colored lace at both ends of the square-shaped windows. A gigantic chandelier was hanging upside down from the ceiling which cast a faint yellow light over the whole room.

A round carpet with mixed colored design stretched over the middle of the room, claiming the sofas and table into its domain.

The scene was just too magical that Sophie forgot that her mouth was opened all this while.

"What are you still standing there for?" An expressionless voice pulled her from her daze. She turned her head to where the sound came from and discovered that Raymond was already on the stairs that led to the second floor above.

The stairs were in a zigzag pattern with circular transparent glasses sectioned along every five steps.

Though still in a daze. Sophie did not dare to keep Raymond waiting as she could see the displeasure in his eyes. She jogged towards him quickly and the both of them ascended together.

Sophie could not help but have a feel of the white walls with her fingers and appreciate how smooth and cold they felt upon touching.

'As expected of a big shot, they sure know how to live life to their taste' there was worship in her eyes as she thought to herself.

She could not still believe she was not in a relationship with such a big shot. No matter what, she was going to keep him and make him fall for her!

The two of them soon arrived at the second floor and to her great astonishment, the second floor was even more spacious than the first floor. The place looked like a waiting room in a five-star hotel.

Sofas were arranged in pairs of two to three with tables in between each set. A huge TV hung on the wall at the end of the room and different paintings also decorated the wall.

On both sides of the hall were doors leading to what Sophie believed to be guest rooms.

The end of the hall was not completely covered as there was an opening that was the size of a king bedroom door, through which Sophie could see the balcony.

She once again looked at Raymond who was walking in front of her. She wondered why he was always wearing a poker face and was so cold like a soldier who lived half of his life on the battlefield.

If she was the one who lived in such heaven, she might die from laughing too much all day. This man was not ordinary.

Since Raymond was not stopping, Sophie naturally followed his steps as they ascended the stairs towards the third floor.

"Do you live in this place alone? Where is your family?" Sophie's soft voice disrupted the peace of their walk. They had walked for almost seven minutes from outside the compound to this point, but she has yet to spot a single soul. Was he really living in this huge place alone? How was everything so clean?

"I do leave alone" he paused for a moment before speaking "Apart from the butlers, cook, and maids, if they count" He turned mute again the moment he finished his words and did not speak anymore, moving silently.

Sophie pursed her lips. If they count? Aren't they humans?

They finally arrived at the third floor and once again, Sophie's expectations were dashed out. She was expecting the third floor to be even more astonishing according to the order of the previous two floors, but the third floor was just as modest as any normal family house would be.

The Walls were painted in bright orange, giving a warm and cozy feeling. A red carpet with a flower design stretched from the beginning of the floor to the other end where a huge door was placed; that was the biggest door actually.

There were five doors on the entire floor. Two on each side facing each other and the last door was at the end of the floor.

"This will be your room from now on, you can take a look, the butler will come to get you in a while" Raymond pointed to one of the doors closest to the huge door before entering his own room.

'As expected, the biggest always belongs to the master of the house. Wait..' Sophie broke out of her thoughts and dashed towards the huge door, putting herself in between before Raymond could close the door.

Raymond raised an eyebrow and looked down at Sophie's face which was inches away from his chin. "What's it?" He asked coldly.

Sophie could feel his warm breath on her face which made her feel ticklish, a pink hue crept up her neck but she did not pull back.

"A-aren't w-we going to share the same room?" She said weakly.

"We aren't at that point yet. Get out of here already" Raymond said in a chilly voice that made Sophie pull back subconsciously, and the next thing was the bang sound of Raymond slamming his door shut.

She smiled to herself before hopping to her 'new' room.
