28. Jealousy

"He's really just an acquaintance of yours? Nothing else?"

Javin looked at Forth with raised eyebrows and a wide smile. He leaned closer to Forth and whispered. "If he's more than just a friend, are you going to ban me?"

Forth looked at Javin with a gloomy face and after a while he turned and walked into the kitchen with jerky steps.

"Up to you!"

Javin smiled and followed Forth into the kitchen. "Okay then. He's pretty good looking and nice and a bit funny. I might consider if he asks me to play one day."

Forth took some carrots from the fridge and started peeling quickly. Javin looked at her a bit worriedly, but then turned his gaze elsewhere when he saw Forth's sharp glance at him.

"Phi Forth, are you mad at me?" asked Javin slowly.

"No," Forth replied curtly. "Why should I be angry?"

"You pout and glare at me."

"I don't!"

"Yes, you did."

"I'm not like that, it's just, ouch, damn!"

Javin gasped, as Forth threw the knife in his hand and blood flowed from his injured finger.

Javin quickly grabbed Forth's hand, grabbed a few sheets of tissue and pulled Forth's hand into the sink. He washed Forth's hands under running water and grumbled.

"You can't hold a knife and cut something when your heart is upset, Phi. That's dangerous!"

Forth watched Javin's lips move and he leaned closer to the pretty man who was in a rage.

When Javin turned to him, Forth planted a kiss on those wet red lips. Javin was stunned, blinked a few times, then a tomato-red color started to spread from his neck to his cheeks.

"You are so beautiful," said Forth. "Why are you so beautiful, Javin? It make me pissed of."

"Phi... you're jealous of Timmy, right?" whispered Javin with wide eyes.

Forth grabbed Javin's waist with his one unharmed hand and planted a kiss on Javin's forehead. He lifted Javin's chin and kissed his lips longer, giving a light lick at the corners of Javin's lips and sucking on his lower lip softly.

"Yeah. I don't like hearing you talk about him. Do you like that tease kid?"

Javin smiled. "No, Phi," Javin said softly. "I'm just trying to be nice because he's Leon's cousin."

Forth poked the tip of Javin's nose and nodded. "Then, no need to do that again."

Javin smiled and wrapped Forth's injured finger with a tissue. He led Forth to sit on a dining chair and took a medicine box, then started treating him.

"When will your residency start?" he asked. "Have you completed all the necessary documents? Is there anything I need to help you with?"

Javin smiled and shook his head. "All set, Phi. The residency will start in two months, I think, when we enter the new semester."

Forth watched Javin who was looking down, wrapping a bandage around Forth's index finger. Javin's thick, curled eyelashes fluttered every time he blinked, barely touching under his eyes.

"Javin, what about your job with me here, when you start your residency?" asked Forth in a cautious tone. "Isn't that the time when your work contract ends?"

Javin looked up and his eyes met Forth's eyes which emitted a look that was difficult to read. He swallowed hard.

Who knew that his relationship with the man he initially only knew as a customer at the mini market where he worked every night, then became his employer in this beautiful house, now involved the feelings of the two of them in a romantic relationship, even though there wasn't any label attached between them.

"I think it will be difficult for me to arrange a schedule, because during the residency period, at night I will definitely be more in the hospital to do guard duty."

"You can keep working according to your schedule at the hospital," Forth said after a moment's thought. "As long as you stay out of here and come back here when you're done at the hospital."

Javin lowered his head. "That's not right for me. It's like I'm taking advantage of your kindness. My work won't be up to par and you're still paying me. I can't take it."

Forth took Javin's hand and held it tightly. "Don't ever say things like that to me, Javin. Even if you didn't do anything and just sat silently by my side, I still want you with me."

Javin pulled their joined hands and kissed the back of Forth's hand with a big smile. "Let's talk about it again when the time gets closer, Phi. I just want to keep up the good work for you for now."

Forth paused and finally nodded. Javin let go of Forth's hand. "I'll order our dinner, Phi. You sit here while I clean up the kitchen. Would you like some coffee before dinner?"

Forth stood up and followed Javin into the kitchen. "I'll make my own coffee."

"Javin, five days from now, do you have plans?" asked Forth while carrying a cup filled with coffee to the dining table.

Javin turned his attention from the sink he was cleaning to Forth. "Five days from now? Emh, I don't think so, Phi. It's the last day of collecting residency documents, so for those who are done, there's no need to come to campus. Some supervisors have also started giving online announcements. Is there something you will do, Phi?" asked Javin while drying his hands.

"Accompany me to my parents' house. It's my mother's birthday and I haven't been home for a long time," Forth said calmly.

"Oh?" Javin exclaimed surprised. "We have to buy a present for your mother, Phi. I'd like to buy something for your mother, if you don't mind."

Forth's brow furrowed."You don't have to do that."

"Why?" asked Javin surprised. "I'll use my own money."

"That's why I don't want you to do it. You should keep all your money to yourself."

"However, I've never bought anything with my own money for my mother. It seemed like it would be fun. My mother passed away so I thought I could do it for yours."

Forth was stunned. He stood up and approached Javin. Forth hugged Javin from behind and rested his chin on Javin's shoulder and kissed Javin's neck briefly.

"I'm sorry, didn't mean to be rude. Let's go shopping tomorrow night."

Javin turned his head and pressed his cheek against Forth's. "Don't take your credit or debit card with you, Phi. I'll pay for everything for you."

Forth chuckled and grabbed Javin's chin, then planted a kiss on Javin's lips.

Suddenly, the front doorbell rang loudly.
