Chapter 4

Oh my gosh, he looks so much taller, and good-looking in person. It would be embarrassing if you live in Seattle and can not recognize Hades Wellington, the CEO of 'Limited'. I mean he's a freaking celebrity in his own right.

"Whoa there, are you okay?" He asks me as he smiles charmingly.

"Yeah, sure, are you?" I manage to converse with him without fainting. He chuckles and then he places the phone that was in his hand in his pocket. He has dressed the part, just how I pictured him to be.

He is wearing a perfectly fitted blue business suit that makes him look like a model. And his cologne, gosh his cologne, it has me mesmerized. I wish I could smell it forever, that would be pure happiness.

"I think I'm fine," He says softly, and then he folds his arms on his chest.

"Funny thing is that I just spoke to the chancellor about you," He informs me and I shake my head in disagreement. That is not possible, how could he talk about me with the chancellor when this is literally the first time that we have met in person.

"I doubt that," I reply to him as I chuckle.

"No, I'm not joking, I did. You are one of the few people that received responses from my company this week, positive ones. I personally read and did background searches on all the applicants that caught accepted," Hades explains to me and some of my confusion clears but I feel slightly insecure now.

If he did a background search on me, then he must have really been entertained. My parents are terrible people and I barely have any good memory of them.

They live in Texas and I am grateful every day when I wake up in another state that I moved out of their house when I graduated high school.

My dad is a drunk and my mom supports him in everything he does, even if that is coming home late at night and beating me for no damn reason. I wish that I never get that dependent on someone that it affects the people that are in my life.

I have no siblings and although I wished that I did many times, the truth is I am grateful that I do not. That way nobody else would have to go through the crap that I went through when I lived with my parents.

They neglected me in so many ways and I really wished things were not that way.

"Your application stood out amongst the rest, I took a look at your photograph that was submitted also and I decided that I would come to your college and request for you to start work today," He tells me and I am mildly surprised and flattered at the same time.

"You mean right now?" I ask him as I try to hide my excitement, though I know that it is seeping through.

"Yes," He pronounces the word distinctively.

"How about the principal? I was told that he wants to see me," I let him know what I believe he already does.

"He wants to see you because I told him to, I wanted him to inform you that you should get to the company headquarters as soon as you could. But I am so glad that I got to pass down that information to you myself," He gives me a smile that causes me to take in a breath and then release it slowly.

"Sir? You have a meeting in two hours, I would suggest that you get to the office so you can prep for it," A lady dressed as if she works for the FBI joins us and tells Hades. She is wearing a black suit and has dark shades on her face. Her face has a serious expression on her face as if smiling is against the law.

"Thank you, Lilly. We would be with you shortly," Hades replies to the lady and she nods in response. She then walks away from us and puts as much distance between her and us as she can.

"We?" I ask him and he nods. He begins to walk and I instinctively feel the need to follow him, so I do.

"Do you think that it's okay for me to ride in the same car as you?" I shoot a question at him and he scoffs lightly.

"Unless you are going to threaten to kill me with an assault rifle, then I think I would survive a ten-minute ride with you," Comes his answer to my question.

We both exit the campus building and I realize that there are almost three guards following us but at a comfortable distance. They are all dressed the same, very diplomatically.

I can not fathom the fact that I am actually in such close proximity to Hades Wellington, it feels like a dream. I only read about him in articles and was even once taught about him in my contemporary history class.

He is well-known and that is not something that is a secret. Even as I am now walking with him, a sea of eyes is aimed at us. We have everyone's attention, even more than a few people have tried to talk to Hades but the guards won't let them.

In a matter of seconds, we reach a very expensive car that I know belongs to Hades, I have seen many Instagram posts of him in front of it. He unlocks it and then opens the door for me. I enter the car as calmly as I can, though I am screaming out of excitement on the inside.

Gosh, I would have too much to tell Liz, I am being driven to work by my boss on my first day! I can not fully explain how excited and ecstatic I feel.

The engines of the car roar to life when Hades has entered and placed on his seatbelt. The guards all enter another car that follows us as we drive out of the parking lot.

"Do you do this often?" I ask Hades without looking at him. I feel like if I look at him for too long that I would get flustered and begin to blush. He is too attractive that it seems like he was made from gold and diamonds.

"Do what?" He asks me as he keeps his eyes trained on the road.

"Pick up your new employees on their first day of work," I clarify and to my surprise, I see his cheeks redden.

"Nope, not really. But you're different, and I like different," He replies to me as his lips curve into a smile that causes my heartbeat to raise and for my pulse to quicken.
