4 The Electric Pole named Jun

Azmya was gawking at him. He was really a cool kid. His book was like a classic model.

Without realising it, Azmya might have raised all four thumbs up.

"You like reading, don't you?" Azmya asked, amazed. Jun just nodded without saying anything else.

His eyes were immediately turned to the book he was reading. Azmya felt awkward being ignored like that.

A few moments later, three students came over to him.

"Hey, new student!" A female student with minus glasses greeted her.

"Hi too!" Azmya tried to return a friendly greeting.

"I'm Vivian. I'm the class leader here, oh yea, let me introduce Dea and Zayn!" The girl with glasses introduced her friends.

After that, she introduced all her friends by pointing at another.

"The long-legged one, he is Jun!" Said Vivian, introducing the boy next to her.

Azmya only chuckled when she heard the word long-legged. But Jun didn't even care about it. He just flipped his book's pages.

"Jun is our class mascot. He is the most genius one." Said Zayn.

"He is also the 1st winner in the national science competition, the Songwriting Champion for students in the province, the English Debate Champion, and the solo singing champion." Zayn continued.

"You are lucky if you sit with Jun!" Zayn added.

"Ooo," Azmya was a little stunned.

It turned out that Jun was the person Mr Tito told her earlier.

Boomm, Azmya was amazed. Her admiration and affection for Jun were increasing. But Jun showed almost no reaction. He just focused on his book.

Suddenly, a female teacher came into the classroom. Everyone rushed to their seats. Jun closed the book, then stored it in a desk drawer.

Azmya couldn't take her eyes off Jun. Whether there was magnetic power, Jun seemed to attract her attention.

His face looked pretty cute with thick eyebrows, sharp nose, piercing eyes, and thin lips.

Azmya could see thin silhouette lines on his chin, and the shaving scar on his beard. She couldn't stop smiling, looking at him.

Jun finally realised that Azmya had been watching him. He turned to Azmya.

"Stop it. You can make a hole in my cheek with your eyes if you look at my face for a long time!" Said Jun, protesting.

"Ooops, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it, I just...." Said Azmya but was cut off because the teacher had started teaching.

Once again, Jun didn't heed it. Azmya admired him even more that Jun was different from the others.

Something that could not be understood, why did a smart, genius, muscular boy like Jun seemed weak and helpless in front of Yan?

Azmya wasn't concerned about Yan and two of his friends. Somehow, she had to deal with them.

It was clear that her dream of a peaceful life at school was gone.

*** *** ***

Azmya had been studying in this school for two weeks. But she already felt the discomfort here.

Especially when she had met Yan and his two friends.

Yan often promised her to hang out together. But, Azmya often hid when he was around.

She didn't want to get along with him. It could be a sign of a red zone because Yan was a troublemaker.

He used to bully his weak friends and misused his father's power to do so.

Worse, the victims didn't even dare to report and tend to cover up his misdeed.

As usual, Azmya hid herself from Yan at the break time even though their classes were different.

She went to the library.

It was the safest and fun place at the same time. Moreover, Jun used to spend his break hours reading books in this place.

Azmya looked around for Jun. He usually used the table near the window to read books. But she didn't see him there.

She only saw an open book, left on the table. It was the book she had seen before. Yes, that book was read by Jun in the class.

Then, Azmya turned it back and forth. It was bold and also written in English.

She was surprised as she rarely saw a boy who loved to read books.

Somehow, Azmya was not interested in reading books. She used to flip its pages without reading it.

Once in a while, she looked around to spot Jun. But she couldn't find him in every corner of the library.

Meanwhile, she had to spend her resting hours here. Otherwise, she might meet Yan and his friends.

Not knowing what to do to get rid of her bad mood, Azmya laid her head down on the table. She wanted to be there for a moment.

Whatever her bad habits were, she used to fall asleep easily wherever she laid her head down. People used to call her "sleepyhead".

Azmya fell asleep.

Ten minutes later, Jun was back to the library. He saw Azmya was sleeping at the spot where he was reading earlier.

Seeing Azmya used the book as her comfortable pillow instead of reading it, Jun was about to get angry and wanted to wake Azmya up.

But he failed to do it because he saw Azmya's cute face when she fell asleep.

Then, he sat close to her, looked at her face, and smiled brightly. He admitted that she was pretty and cute.

Somehow, he never thought that he could see her face clearly and freely like this.

Jun wanted to take care of Azmya so that she could sleep well. He even slapped away a mosquito, which was trying to approach her face.

He then blocked the sunshine glaring through the window when it burnt her face so that she could be safe.

He could only do this when she fell asleep. Once she woke up, he wouldn't be this brave.

'It is true, you are Azmya Kiarra,' Said Jun in his heart as he remembered the first time he met her.

Jun still remembered when Azmya asked him to be her bodyguard. But he actually knew that she tried to save him from Yan's actions by pretending to make him/her slave.

He was quite sure about it when he led her to the principal's office. In no way she showed that she was going to enslave him.

Plus, he knew that Azmya was avoiding Yan and used to come to the library just to hide from him and his gang.

Jun believed that Azmya was actually a good girl.
