Chapter 23: The Monster In Me

I always knew that I was different, I didn't know how, or why. I just... knew that I was different. I wasn't acting like my brother, I wasn't seeking attention from my parents or their approval.

I wasn't hurt when my mother avoided me and could barely look at me. I didn't know the reason, but for some strange reason I also didn't care either, I don't know why. I just felt... nothing.

I felt nothing when my father told me 'Show no fear, no weakness, and no mercy.' I felt nothing when he told me that our family has a lot of enemies and that they will think that I will be the weakest target. I just... accepted his training with no complaints at all.

I felt nothing when I saw my brother's envy in his eyes because our father was avoiding him. I just... didn't care. I also didn't care when my brother was approaching me to get our father's attention. I was just... playing along with their game.

Everything was fake, our family was nothing but FAKE!
