5 Chapter 5

The party was boring and the other people there were full of plasticity, so Ace just went home. It was good in his house, there was no plastic because he was the only person there and his two dogs.

When he opened the door, he was immediately greeted by his two dogs — Logan and Brandon.

"Hey buddies." He was tired of sitting on the long sofa, and his dogs followed suit.

These two were also choosy, eh. Not sitting on the floor, really needed on the sofa.

He tapped Logan's head. "You remember what I told you last night, buddy? About this woman named Lena Candice?" He also tapped Brandon's head. "Well, my weirdo attacked again earlier. Um—I attended the bachelors' auction that trades men to raise money—Fuck! Why the fuck did I give one million to those fuckers?" He was shaken. "Anyway, this woman named Lena is very innocent. So off limits. A marrying type of woman, not my thing." He ruffled Logan and Brandon's hair on their head. "I feel crazy, talking to dogs." He sighed.

"That's what happened when you're alone."

Ace jumped up and quickly stood up, then turned to the source of the voice.

In the doorway to his kitchen stood Logan fucking Volkov. One of his hands had a beer the other had a slice of cake.

"Hey dude." He smiled at him.

He scowled at him. "How did you get into my house? And put my drink and food back in the refrigerator!"

Logan chuckled. "It's called picking the lock and no, I won't. I'm hungry." He collapsed on the sofa.

"Are you still there?" He didn't let him get nervous and was a little embarrassed. It's just a bit! Pretty much!

Logan gave him a penetrating look, and then the idiot started laughing his ass off. "I heard it all."

"Go fuck yourself." He threw a throw pillow at Logan. "Get out of my house."

"I don't want."

He pulled the visitor upright and pushed him back toward the door of the house. "Get out of here, Logan."

He just laughed, and when he was at the door, he turned to Ace. His voice was serious. "How are you, buddy? It's been ten years, and you haven't moved on a bit."

All emotions were gone from his body. "If what happened to me happened to you, I'm sure, you'll be just like me."

"You have to let go people in in your life, Ace." Shake. Then he suddenly smiled. "So, I'm here, to cheer you up."

He rolled his eyes at Logan. "Go away."

He just laughed, then went out the door but still faced him. "You know, Ace, Candice is a Russian surname." His eyebrow fluttered. The madman seemed to be teasing. "Hey, she's going to puberty."

He slammed the door shut in his face, then disgustedly went to his room.

Ace quickly took off his clothes, took a shower, and slept on the bed naked. And of course, he wasn't shocked when a nightmare ruined his peaceful slumber. He pulled out his own hair, then wiped with a blanket the sweat caused by the bad dream. He rubbed his palm on his face, then got out of bed and put on jogging pants.

As he descended the stairs to the living room, he was shocked to see Logan sitting on the sofa. He drinks beer and makes a pulley of the cake. Looked like he picked the lock again.

"Bad dream?" His question. Then he gestured with his hand on the sofa in front of him. "Come on. Sit."

Ace took a deep breath then sat down in front of Logan's sofa.

"What did you dream?" He asked.

He rolled his eyes. "What are you, psychologist?"

Logan rolled his eyes too. "Just tell me, you fucker."

He sighed, then leaned his body back on the sofa. He looked at the ceiling. "Same bad dream. It doesn't change, eh. Every night, I'm always reminded that it's all my fault."

"Ace, let those memories go. Shut up your mommy and your sister Nadia."

Ace shook his head and sighed. "If only I could."

"You could, if you let yourself."

A sad smile grazed his lips. "It's really my fault what happened to them."

Logan sighed. "It's not your fault that your mommy and younger sister died."

Ace left the sofa then lay on the floor.

Logan let out a sigh, then left the sofa and lay down next to him. "When you have a bad dream, I will pour water on you," He said.

"And how do you know?"

"Because you trash when you're having nightmare." Logan leaned over, back facing him.

He did the same. "Good night, fuckers," he said.

"Good night, weirdo," Logan replied.

Ace closed his eyes and forced himself to sleep. This time, nightmares didn't bother him, but a certain woman with a hot piece of ass did.

….

"This is the shampoo you use for your dog," Lena said, handing the shampoo box to her regular customer at the clinic. "And then don't walk hers too much first, Ditzy." She ruffled the dog's fur. "Maybe her sprained leg is stretched."

"Yes Doctor." Mrs. Colin smiled at her. "Thanks a lot."

She smiled and went back to feeding her dog Ace. "There, eat, baby," she said to the dog as she stroked his head. "Eat well, Ace."

The bell on the door rang twice, signaling that she had another customer.

Lena stood up then faced the door. She was stunned and did not continue the smile that she would have given to the incoming customer.

It was none other than Ace Jordan Steele. What was he doing there? She wouldn't ask how he found out where her clinic was.

Maybe it was just a coincidence.

"Good afternoon," she politely greeted him. "Do you need something?"

Mr. Steele stared at her for a long time before speaking. "My dog is sick."

Only then did she notice that he had a dog with him. It was a St. Bernard puppy. Her heart giggled at the cute puppy.

"Aww. So cute." She approached the dog, then knelt in front of him and stroked his head. "What's wrong with you? You're okay, baby?" She looked up at Mr. Steele. "What happened to him?"

"Fell down the stairs. I think the foot is sprained..."

She suddenly felt annoyed and picked up the dog. "'Then did you walk yet? Hmp!" She took the dog to the table, where she examined the condition of the animals brought to her. "What is the name of your dog?"

"Logan." His voice came from behind her.

Lena muffled a gasped and moved away from Mr. Steele. She could feel a strange tickle in her legs and abdomen.

He gave her a weird look. "Afraid of me, my sweet?" He looked down at her pink skirt. "Sweet."

She shook her head. "No." She adjusted the skirt then looked at that dog.

While examining the dog, she wondered because she could see nothing wrong with Logan—the puppy.

She looked at Mr. Steele. "Are you sure this Logan fell?"

"Yes." The corner of the man's lips rose. "Because the fool is walking backwards."

Her forehead furrowed. "Backwards? I haven't seen a dog walk backwards yet."

Mr. Steele just shrugged and looked at her skirt again. She noticed that his eyes were always there staring.

She sneezed. "Ahm, do you like my skirt?"

His eyes dance in amusement. "No. I'm staring at your ass."

Lena was stunned. "W-what?"

Instead of answering, he only took a few steps away from the two of them that he had placed, then stared at her face. "You're pretty," he whispered, his voice sounding husky.

She forced a smile at his praise. "Thank you."

He looked down at her chest. "Nice breasts."

Lena was held on both breasts, then smiled sparingly. "Thanks again."

Mr. Steele actually chuckled lightly. "You have a very delectable piece of ass." His eyebrows rose. "Will you still be grateful?"

"That's a compliment, isn't it?" she asked again, confused.

"You are not insulted?"

"Why? Are you disrespect to me?" she asked, genuinely confused. "Daddy told me, the word rude is only used when someone touches you on a private part of your body. In our case, you didn't touch me inappropriately so, no, I'm not being insulted."

"Touch you inappropriately?" He chuckled, and it sounded ... sexy? "Can I hold you here?" His fingers touched her chin. "Is that rude?"

Lena nodded. "No ..."

"If I do something rude to you? What are you going to do?"

"I'll punch you, then tear-gassed you," she bravely replied even though her knees were weakening for no apparent reason. "I have a little tear gas in the bag, just like pepper spray." Her father provided her with tear gas in a spray bottle.

"Where's your tear gas?" Ace asked again.
