The Guests

At the door was a young, beautiful lady with a boy around my age.

She was wearing jeans and a shirt with a pair of Nike and the boy had a black hoodie with black jeans and converse and a pair of black-rimmed glasses on his nose.

GOD, was he adorable.

"Hi. What can I do for you?"

"Hey. I am Matilda Anders and this is my son Ray. We just moved next door and thought we should greet you."

"Oh. I am Christi Wenster. A pleasure to make your acquaintance. Sorry, my mom's not home. But I will tell her as soon as she returns that we have lovely new neighbors."

"How sweet of you Christi. Also, my son Ray also goes to Flinch Magers."

"Really, what a coincidence. Good to meet you, Ray", I say as I flash a small smile at the tall boy standing behind his mother.

Much to my dismay, he averts my gaze and flinches back.

Oh, I wasn't expecting that, but maybe he is just shy, who knows.

"How about having dinner with us tonight?" asked Miss Anders out of the blue.

"That would be lovely, thank you, ma'am."

"Oh come on, you make me sound old, just call me Matilda."

"Ok, Matilda," I say with a million-watt smile.

"well then, I will not keep you. Please make sure to come for dinner with your family at 8."

I give a firm nod and close the door as the mother and son pair leave. After that, I call my mom and inform her about the situation, she promises to come home by 7:30 so we can go for dinner.
