Ch. 5 : Date I

'I didn't know it at all. I've secretly liked him for so long, but I don't have a clue.', thought Lin Lu. 'Even worse, I was told by another boy. I'm... so stupid...'

"Ha ha ha ha! You should see the look on your face!", laughed Xia Yi. "Ha?", Lin Lu asked.

"I was only joking.", laughed Xia Yi, putting his hand on Lin Lu's shoulder for support with a hand on his stomach from laughing. "Don't get so worked up! Ha ha ha! You believe anything!"

Jumping in school and anger, Lin Lu cried,"You need to know when to draw the line, you jerk!" Xia Yi laughed even harder, and said,"You are killing me! Ha ha!"

'This guy is really mentally sick. My gosh! Meeting him was the worst mistake of my life!!', Lin Lu thought, crying silently in her mind. 'I swear! The agreement he suggested before was just to keep torturing me!'

Stifling his laughter, Xia Yi put on a serious face and recited,"Gou Feng, second-year, literature class representative for class 6. Prefers gentle girls that like to smile. Good at cooking and drawing, enjoys sweets... man, he's kinda girly, huh?"

Listening to Xia Yi whist examining him carefully, Lin Lu tilted her head and thought,'Huh. I guess he really was helping me investigate.'

Xia Yi tapped Lin Lu's forehead with his finger. "Don't forget any of this, got it? I don't feel like repeating myself." "Ah... got it.", replied Lin Lu.

Continuing on, Xia Yi said,"Next week is Gou Feng's birthday, and he's going to be hosting a party to celebrate. I'm going with him to buy supplies this Saturday, so..."

Lin Lu looked at Xia Yi, starry-eyed. 'So... is he going to ask me to come along?', she wondered.

Xia Yi leaned forward and smirked,"Nothing ~~ I just talk. With the expectant eyes, are you wanting me to invite you?" Lin Lu turned her head and put a hand in front of his face.

"Ah forget it, I'm done teasing you. Yes, you're coming along on Saturday too!", sighed Xia Yi, waving his hand and walking away.

"You!", grumbled Lin Lu. Stopping in her tracks, she blushed and smiled. 'But... to be able to see him outside of school, I can't wait!', she thought.

Saturday

"Oh, it's no good. I'm to scared.", moaned Lin Lu, her face in her hands. "Look, you...", started Xia Yi, but before he could finish, Lin Lu interrupted him.

"I mean, who would believe that we'd all just bump into each other like this? It's so fake!", she cried.

Xia Yi sighed. "All you gotta do is act like this, you can say 'Yo! Well, isn't this Gou Feng! What a coincidence!', and he will go,'What a coincidence indeed, Lu Lu!', and you can leave the rest to me," he explained.

Lin Lu looked back at Xia Yi, a blurred look in her eyes. "I don't think I can do it!", she mused, I get nervous just seeing him... "But...", Lin Lu continued, looking down as she twiddled her fingers.

Xia Yi twitched exasperatedly, leaning against a wall for support. 'Man, I really screwed myself here, agreeing to go shopping with a guy... for a girl!', he thought.

Tilting her head, Lin Lu looked at Xia Yi, confused.

"Let's go!", said Xia Yi, grabbing Lin Lu's wrist. "Don't he scared! You've got me by your side!", he continued.

"Now hurry up! No more grumbling about it.", he declared, dragging Lin Lu along behind him.

"But I'm not ready yet...", Lin Lu muttered, "crying" as Xia Yi dragged her along.

"Yo! Sorry, I ran into your classmate, so I'm a little late.", greeted Xia Yi, as Lin Lu struggled to escape from his grip, anxiously saying,"Let me go! You're the worst!".

Gou Feng laughed and waved. Smiling at Lin Lu, he said,"Hi! Lu Lu, what a coincidence!"

Lin Lu stopped struggling, and replied," Uh... Good morning, Gou Feng!"

Xia Yi smiled, explaining, "I was just telling her we were gonna buy some stuff, nd she would like to help!"

Looking down with furrowed brows, Lin Lu blushed. "Mm... sorry if I cause any trouble, Gou Feng.", she said quietly.

Rubbing Lin Lu's head with a smile, Gou Feng laughed, "Now how could you possibly make any trouble? I'll be counting on you then, Lu Lu."

Lin Lu blushed red, her hands on her cheeks. His hands are so big and warm... They make me feel so safe! For 3 years, all I've done is secretly look at him, but today we're suddenly shopping together! Almost like a date...

At first, Lin Lu was nervous and cautious, but as time passed she slowly relaxed. As Gou Feng put a deer headband on her head, Lin Lu smiled happily. However, this scene was seen by Xia Yi.

Raising an eyebrow at Lin Lu's smile, he tutted,"... What a stupid expression."

After a lot of shopping, Lin Lu collapsed on a bench. "Whoo~", she sighed.

"You two wait here, I'll go buy us some drinks.", said Gou Feng, putting down the shopping bags in his hands on the bench.

"Okay, thank you Gou Feng.", Lin Lu replied, smiling dreamily as her gaze lingered on Gou Feng as he walked away.

Xia Yi leaned against the wall and glanced at Lin Lu watching Gou Feng for a few seconds, a hint of something in his eyes. "Pft.", he snorted.

I heard that! Lin Lu whipped her head around to glare at Xia Yi, then softened her gaze. "Well, I guess I should thank you.", she began.

Xia Yi raised an eyebrow and looked at her questionably.

"If it wasn't for you, nothing would have changed.", Lin Lu confessed, fiddling with her hair. "Even though you're a creep, you really do have my deepest thanks... it's just, I can't stop wondering, why did you suggest this kind of agreement that day?"

"Well it's because...", Xia Yi started. His eyes suddenly widened as he lurched forward. "Hey!"
