1 The day with you

Jakarta

Early 2010

Abel ran quickly down the corridors of his campus with both hands busy tying his hair back, while his lips pressed against the folder which contained his assignment papers. He looked around looking for the face of someone who had been waiting for him for a long time.

The girl knew that she had passed the time limit promised by Kevin. Right behind a large pot planted with palm trees the man was sitting reading a book he was holding and looked so serious. Abel smiled broadly and then took over the position of the map that had been on his lips, now he moved it into his hands.

He walked over to Kevin who had been waiting for him casually like nothing had happened. Basically it was always like this, she never felt that she was the late queen who always irritated people by waiting for her, but not Kevin. This man was different from most of the people who had an appointment with Abel.

The proof is now Kevin is smiling broadly when the girl appears in front of him, even he immediately closes the book he is reading. Kevin looked briefly at Abel with a smile.

"Thirty minutes and fifteen seconds." Kevin said while looking at the clock on his right hand. Instantly Abel puffed his cheeks making him look so cute in Kevin's eyes. Love is blind, right? Everything looks beautiful in the eyes of those who are intoxicated.

"You know what the traffic jams are like." Abel answered lightly. "This is the last one. I promise." Abel raised his middle finger along with his index finger and put on a reassuring face.

"No need to promise me. I'm fine if I have to wait for you all day, but you should try to change for yourself to be a more independent and punctual person."

Abel sighed and chuckled hearing Kevin's line of words who were like his parents. Kevin is like this if Abel does something wrong, never gets angry but always gives him long advice, it bores this girl.

"As long as you don't get tired of waiting for me, I won't change."

Kevin just giggled at Abel's words and Abel's facial expression was sullen. Kevin reached out and ruffled Abel's hair gently while Abel didn't mind it at all.

Simultaneously Abel grabbed the drink in front of him but before the drink reached his mouth, Kevin grabbed it quickly. Abel widened his eyes in shock and almost spat out a curse at Kevin.

"This is someone else's ex, Bel! You are so reckless." Kevin said firmly before the girl made a sound. While Abel immediately rounded his mouth by lowering his head slightly in shame. Kevin sighed and shook his head.

Then Kevin got up from his chair and went to the canteen to buy a drink for Abel. Not long after one orange juice came. Abel smiled widely as if it was the first time he had seen the drink.

"Wow you know what I want." Abel grabbed his orange juice before Kevin managed to place it on the table. Kevin smiled a little.

"No need to overdo it, we've been together long enough. To just know your favorite drink isn't anything special."

"But this is good Kevin." Abel replied adamantly. "I love you." Abel continued limply with a seductive tone of voice.

"I love you too." Kevin's reply was flat, not romantic at all, making Abel giggle amused.

"Um, actually I want my first date to go on vacation abroad." Abel's eyes widen. "Any country that has four seasons. I want to go there when it's snowing. I want to enjoy it. Of course, with you."

Abel's sentence was closed by a wide grin that appeared on his face. While what Kevin was doing, he looked at Abel sharply as if he saw disappointment in Abel.

"Sorry." Kevin mumbled.

"Huh? You don't have to say sorry to me." Answered Abel. "That was my wish in the past. Now I prefer the fact that we are together. Okay?" Abel immediately hugged Kevin even though they were in a public place, and it seemed that Abel didn't really care where he was at all.

"Aww." Kevin winced, and Abel immediately let go of his embrace. Kevin held his left shoulder making Abel look confused.

"Why?"

Abel asked surprised, and quickly lowered Kevin's T-shirt on the shoulder, which immediately showed a bluish bruise there. Abel's heart suddenly felt like it had been stung by a bee when he saw the wound and his face turned angry. He knew what was happening to Kevin and who made the wound on Kevin's arm.

"I told you, you could die at the hands of your own father."

Scenes like this were familiar to Abel, therefore this girl couldn't understand how a father could have the heart to physically abuse his own biological child.

The girl had warned Kevin many times to report his father to the police, but Kevin would not obey. He still has a conscience not to report his own father to the authorities. She thought, after all that man was her own real father.

"My father wouldn't have the heart to kill me, Bel."

"Not to the heart you say?" Abel snorted in disbelief. "Then what is the name if you don't have the heart to beat your own biological child until they are bruised like this?!" Abel's emotions have reached the top. "I know he is your father, but you also have to think about your situation, especially your mother. You and your mother don't deserve to be treated like this, Vin. Even though he is your father but you are a human who should receive love from his father, not violence like this. At least, you must have rights as a child!" Abel can't hide his hatred for Kevin's father

"My father has a friend who is a lawyer. He can defend you with your mother in court later."

"Not!" Reject Kevin quickly. "Your family can find out about mine. What will your family say if they find out that their daughter is related to a man who comes from a dysfunctional family."

"Kevin, this is not the time to think about my family."

"Arabella." Abel scowled. If Kevin has mentioned his full name, it means that Kevin is on the verge of anger.

They looked at each other as if hinting what they wanted through their eyes. Abel gulped feeling tired, no matter how hard Abel asked, Kevin would still be adamant to refuse. Kevin reached out his hand to touch Abel's cheek and caressed it with his thumb.

Abel said annoyed. The girl was fed up with Kevin's father's behavior like an insane person. Always doing physical violence to Kevin makes the man always get bruises on his body.

"I'm fine, I'm fine. Don't worry about me so much."

"But I want you to live, Vin." Abel replied irritated.

Kevin smiled a little. "Who said I would die just from being beaten by my own father, he is not Lord Bel. And I will continue to live as long as you are still by my side."

This was the most beautiful sentence Abel had ever heard from Kevin's mouth, but not in his mood. It felt like Abel wanted to run and meet Kevin's father, then avenge everything he had done to Kevin, but that would never happen considering that she is a woman and Kevin would be very angry if Abel did such a reckless thing.
