30 You've Earned It

It was strange being candid with Vera about this after so much secrecy. But there was nothing left to hide. PTSD and schizophrenia weren't nearly as bad as DID and she had accepted that. She truly didn't have a problem with Casey as he was, which had seemed impossible. 

Her expression grew sad and she reached out to caress his face. "You made up a friend because you needed one?"

He sighed. "Yeah. Losing Hallucination Kane was pretty miserable because he was all I had when dealing with Candy…but then I met you. You were a lot better than he was anyway."

She sighed and slumped forward to snuggle against his chest, tightening her arms around him. "I'm so sorry, Casey. That must have been so hard."

"It brought me to you though and you're the best part of my life. My only regret is that I didn't tell you sooner. Would have saved all three of us a lot of stress. I'm sorry for not trusting you more. I should have."
