Casey had fun doing most of Vera's Christmas traditions but he was relieved when things settled down after the holidays. Running around so much could get tiring but it had been nice seeing her so happy even if that had been tempered with sadness that she couldn't do these things with her aunt now and then. 

He had gotten Vera some new tools since he knew gift-giving was a big part of Christmas and she had been thrilled. In return she got him a coat that was much nicer than any of the others he owned, saying she thought it would look good on him. 

Kane had seen him wearing it and asked him where he got it. He had to lie and say he bought it himself. 

It was becoming harder to brush off where he was going and what he was doing out of the apartment all the time. Casey was pretty sure Kane was getting suspicious at this point but that wasn't all he had to worry about.
