Love is Sweet: The Nation’s Princess Meets Her True Love

Excerpt: The corners of Lu Chenjun’s lips slightly curled up into an unreadable smile. ‘I let you go once because I was foolish and I thought that was what you wanted. I didn’t cherish you and didn’t treat you well before. Now that you are back, I will definitely not let you leave my side again. . . never again.’ Lu Chenjun stared at the woman on the screen with gentle and loving eyes, ‘Yinghui, let me take care of you, spoil you, and love you. . .’ --- Just like any other romance story, our female lead Jin Yinghui was cruelly kicked out of her home at the age of 18. In despair, she left for Korea and became a successful female idol through her hard work and dedication. Her breathtaking visuals and diverse talents earned her the title of the Nation’s Princess in Korea. She tried her best to wipe away all the bad memories from her past and even used a different name, Elena. Her life takes another turn when her company sends her back to her birthplace, Jin Province. In her homeland, new challenges are awaiting her. Jealousy from other celebrities and little fame in the entertainment industry of the Jin Province all stand as obstacles that prevent Elena from taking the easy path. However, one good thing does find its way to Elena in the Jin Province. She meets Lu Chenjun, the CEO of the LIQuan Company. As a playboy, he develops an interest in Elena and asks her to be his girlfriend. Elena understands that she needs a pillar to hold onto and help her build a strong foundation in the entertainment industry of the Jin Province. She consents to his proposal and Lu Chenjun becomes her first boyfriend. Will their relationship remain strong or will the challenges that appear break them apart? --- Note: This is a slow romance novel and there are some misunderstandings that all get cleared up relatively quickly. Update: 1 to 2 chapters daily and mass releases often This is an original story by me and not a translation. The picture in the cover is not mine. Credits to the owner :) I hope you enjoy it! Stay With Me Tonight

Finally, he turned away and nodded.

The rest of the meal was silent, and Chu Hua kept taking gulps of her water, not touching the food.

By the time they got up to leave, it was already 7 P.M.

In the car, Lu Chenjun turned to Chu Hua, "I'll take you to your house in the Jinlu Complex."

Chu Hua shook her head, "I don't want to go there. It will remind me of my parents. Can you take me to a hotel?"

Lu Chenjun started the engine and drove to the best five-star hotel in the Jin Province, the Daxin Hotel.

After helping Chu Hua take out all of her luggage from the trunk, Lu Chenjun walked over to the front desk.

"I need a one-person suite."

Without even looking up, the lady working at the front desk said, "Sorry, our rooms are filled."

Lu Chenjun knocked once on the desk, "I don't care. Get me a room."

The lady looked up angrily, but when her eyes rested on his face, she immediately swallowed down her words and began searching through her computer for an open room.

"Mr. Lu, we only have a two-bedroom suite left. Will that be okay with you?"

Lu Chenjun nodded and held out his hand for the room card.

This hotel was under the LIQuan Company, but Lu Chenjun didn't want to take advantage of his own company. He told the front desk lady to put the cost under his account and have Fang Shi figure out the payment.

Chu Hua followed Lu Chenjun into an elevator and looked at him, "Thank you."

Lu Chenjun didn't say anything, but cleared his throat as a way to express 'No worries.'

The suite was huge, consisting of two separate bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room with a huge television, and two bathrooms.

After dropping off all of Chu Hua's luggage, Lu Chenjun turned around to leave. Realizing this, Chu Hua quickly reached for Lu Chenjun's wrist and grabbed onto it.

"Can you stay with me tonight?"

Lu Chenjun knit his eyebrows together, "I have to go back, my girlfriend is waiting for me."

Chu Hua's eyes dimmed as she looked down, "You know I'm afraid of the dark. Especially since this room is so big, I don't want to be alone here."

Uncertainty flashed through his eyes, 'I promised Jin Yinghui that I would be back on time today. I can't break the promise.'

"Chu Hua, I'll be back tomorrow."

He escaped from Chu Hua's grasp but didn't expect Chu Hua to suddenly collapse onto the ground in tears.

He turned back and kneeled down in front of her.

"Why are you crying?"

Chu Hua pulled on his arm tightly as if she was holding on to dear life, "If you won't stay here with me tonight, I won't stay here either. This room is big and empty. You know me, Chenjun. I hate this feeling."

Lu Chenjun furrowed his eyebrows. This was the difference between Chu Hua and Elena. Elena never threw a fit when things didn't go her way. It almost seemed like she didn't care. Chu Hua, on the other hand, was like a little kid. She relies on him and would do anything to get her way.

Lu Chenjun couldn't tell which one he preferred. It was a good feeling to know that Chu Hua could depend on him, but it becomes irritating if she maintains her temper for too long.

Finally, he said, "Go take a shower. I'll watch you until you fall asleep."

Chu Hua happily nodded and wiped her tears before she stood up to go take a shower.

Chu Hua laid on her bed, her eyes watching Lu Chenjun.

"Will you leave right after I fall asleep?"

Lu Chenjun nodded.

"Can you stay? There is another room with a bed."

He shook his head, waiting for Chu Hua to fall asleep. However, she never did. She stayed awake, even though her eyelids were getting heavy.

Not until Lu Chenjun fell asleep on the couch, did she close her eyes and drift off to sleep.

---

It was already 12:30 A.M., but Lu Chenjun still hadn't come back yet. Elena forced herself to stay awake, watching TV shows and reading horror stories.

Lu Chenjun had promised her that he would be back in time for bed, and Elena trusted him. After reading a horror story about a ghost, Elena crawled onto her bed, hiding inside her blanket. However, the warmth from her blanket caused her to feel sleepy. She checked the clock. It was already 2 in the morning.

It didn't seem like Lu Chenjun would be coming back. She closed her eyes and immediately fell asleep.

Elena barely got in 6 hours of sleep before she had to wake up again. The alarm clock sounded next to her, and she quickly turned it off. Her hand reached out to the space next to her as she slapped the pillow.

"Lu Chenjun, wake up!"

Elena rubbed her eyes open and turned to her left. Just as she was about to lightly punch him, she realized that Lu Chenjun wasn't there.

She frowned, 'Where is he? Why didn't he come back home the entire night? Did something happen to him?'

Although she was well aware of the fact that Lu Chenjun was a grown man who could decide to stay out the whole night, Elena was still nervous.

She couldn't stay in her thoughts for a long time though. Filming started at 9, and she had a part in the first scene.

She quickly did her makeup and went down to eat breakfast. She called Fang Shi, afraid that the same incident will happen again.

She left the house at 8:30, and Fang Shi was waiting outside for her. She hopped onto the backseat and said hello to Fang Shi.

When they were halfway there, Elena suddenly realized that Lu Chenjun wasn't with Fang Shi either.

"Assistant Fang, do you know where Lu Chenjun went yesterday?"

Fang Shi immediately tensed up.

'Should I tell Miss Jin Yinghui the truth? Would Mr. Lu get mad at me? Would I lose my bonus for the month?'

Fang Shi cleared his throat before speaking, "Mr. Lu was at his office yesterday. He was kind of busy. Why do you ask?"

Elena looked down, "Nothing."

Fang Shi let out a sigh of relief. Hopefully that was the right thing to say.

After Elena got out of the car, she told Fang Shi to roll down the car window.

"Assistant Fang, can you get me a car? I completely forgot about this, but a while ago, Lu Chenjun told me that he would get another car for me. I'm fine with any brand, as long as it's drivable."

Fang Shi nodded and waved goodbye to Elena.

Elena greeted the director before walking into her own private dressing room. Mila was sitting on a chair inside, scrolling through her phone.

"Hi, Mila."

Mila didn't respond as she kept looking at her phone.

Elena dropped her bag on the table and sat down across from her.

"What are you looking at?"

"Elena. . ."

Mila's voice was uncertain as if she was asking a question.

"What?"

Mila finally looked up from her phone, "Was Mr. Lu at home yesterday?"

Elena raised an eyebrow, "No."

Mila held out her phone, and Elena took it over, her eyes still looking at Mila. She looked down at the screen and saw that Mila was reading the news.

She smiled, "Wow! Good job, Mila. You're actually reading the news now."

Mila didn't laugh at Elena's joke, "Look at it."

Elena didn't really understand why Mila was being so serious, but she listened and read the news.

The header of the article was, 'President of the LIQuan Company Enters Hotel With Unknown Woman and Doesn't Leave Until Morning'.

Elena frowned at the title as she continued to read. There were several pictures taken at an uncomfortable angle, showing that they were taken in secret. In the pictures, you could clearly see Lu Chenjun's face as he walks into the Daxin Hotel with a woman.

There is another picture of him at the front desk, and the lady working there was handing a room card over to him.

The last image was when Lu Chenjun walked out of the hotel alone the next day, early in the morning. No one knew who the woman was, which was kind of surprising.

Elena thought for a moment, and she concluded that the only reason why the article didn't show the woman's face was because Lu Chenjun didn't want them to.

Lu Chenjun had an enormous say in what gets posted in the news and what doesn't. If something he doesn't want to see shows up in the news, he had the capability to immediately shut down the company the news came from and force them to take off the article.

Elena scrolled up and saw that the article was posted one hour ago. If Lu Chenjun wanted to take it down, she wouldn't be reading it right now.

She looked up at Mila and handed the phone back to her. She gave Mila a reassuring smile and stood up as the director called everyone to get into position.
