An Arrogant Person

Making as little noise as possible, Lu Chenjun climbed in from the other side of the bed and pulled Elena into his embrace.

Elena moved a bit in Lu Chenjun's arms before continuing to sleep.

The next morning, Elena was woken up by the sunlight shining into the room. She rubbed her eyes and slowly blinked them open, adjusting to the light.

She scrunched her nose up at the unpleasant scent.

'Why does it smell like alcohol?'

She looked up and found herself staring at Lu Chenjun with his eyes closed.

"Ah!" Elena screamed and immediately jumped up, accidentally kicking Lu Chenjun in the groin again.

Lu Chenjun frowned from the pain, and slowly opened his eyes.

"Don't be so aggressive in the morning."

Elena knew that he was mocking her, "Why are you in my bed?"

Lu Chenjun slowly sat up, "Baby, this is my bed."

Elena rolled her eyes in disgust, "I'm not your baby. Do not call me that. Why am I in your bed?"

Lu Chenjun smiled mischievously as he brushed his hands through his black hair, "You really don't remember?"

Elena shook her head.

"Last night, you climbed into my bed while I was drunk. You even said that you liked sleeping with me."

Elena couldn't hold her calm expression anymore. She thought back to yesterday night, but couldn't recall ever climbing into Lu Chenjun's bed.

"Excuse me. How would you remember? You were drunk. Stop lying to me."

"I'm not lying."

Elena couldn't think of anything to say, so she crossed her arms and looked away. The sun was very bright, unlike how it normally was at 7 o'clock in the morning.

Elena jumped up in surprise and quickly turned to look at the clock.

"Oh my god, I'm late!"

Before running out of the room, Elena didn't forget to scream at Lu Chenjun, "You bastard! Don't ever drink again!"

Lu Chenjun laughed at Elena's gullibility, and he slowly got off the bed as well. He hadn't slept so well in a long time. She had a natural scent that was so pleasing to the nose. It wasn't strong and disgusting like the perfume smell other girls gave off.

Lu Chenjun wobbled towards the restroom and washed his face with cold water. He drank too much yesterday night and had a severe headache.

Elena quickly washed her face and changed her clothes. She was late for three hours already, and she was supposed to film the first scene that day. Director Xin was definitely going to scream at her.

She rushed out the door after rejecting Auntie Qin's offer for breakfast, and found Lu Chenjun already waiting for her outside.

'How did he change and get ready so quickly?'

Lu Chenjun opened the door and sat down, "Get in."

Elena would have rejected his offer because she was still embarrassed, but she was going to be late if she didn't get in. She rolled her eyes and walked around the car, opening the door from the other side.

Throughout the entire ride, Lu Chenjun was smiling smugly, while Elena had a frown on her face. Fang Shi didn't dare ask what happened, as he could tell it wasn't very pleasant.

Once the car came to a stop, Elena rushed out without even saying goodbye to Lu Chenjun. She ran into the warehouse and quickly located the director. Mila noticed her first and quickly pulled her over.

"Why didn't you pick up my calls?"

"Sorry, my phone wasn't in the room and the alarm didn't sound." Elena quickly turned to the director, who just finished filming a scene.

"Director Xin, I am so sorry." She was cut off before she could explain.

"Jin Yinghui! I complimented you a few days ago, and now you are late. Filming started three hours ago! Don't think that you are so special that you could waste everybody's time!"

Elena bowed down apologetically and opened her mouth to explain. Before the words could leave her mouth, a deep voice sounded behind her.

"Director Xin, there is no need to scream."

Everyone turned towards the voice and watched as Lu Chenjun calmly walked over to where Elena was standing.

Elena whispered under her breath so only Lu Chenjun could hear, "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to save you."

Elena frowned and rolled her eyes, 'What an arrogant person.'

Lu Chenjun moved a step closer to Director Xin and smiled, "Don't blame Yinghui for being late today. I was the one who caused this, so you can blame me."

Of course, Director Xin didn't dare blame Lu Chenjun, so he decided to let it slide.

"Oh, no. There is no need for that. Just don't be late again."

Elena nodded and apologized once more. Lu Chenjun smiled at Elena and mockingly lifted one eyebrow.

"Work hard. I'll come and pick you up later."

Elena didn't respond to him, and walked away to get her makeup done.

This whole scene was being watched by Su Yan, who clenched her teeth together in disgust and frustration. She had thought that Lu Chenjun would break up with Elena in a short time, and she would go back to picking on Elena. However, it seemed like reality wasn't matching up with her plan.

Elena was a quick learner, and after getting used to the character of Hua Luo, her scenes usually passed with one take. Although she wasn't an amazing actor, her skills weren't bad, so the director rarely screamed at her.

Filming passed by quickly, and Elena was close to finishing all of her scenes. Hua Luo had a tragic ending and didn't have a part in the last five episodes. Therefore, Elena only had a few more weeks of work before she was done with her first film in Jin Province.

Lu Chenjun kept his promise and was already waiting for Elena outside of the warehouse at 6 P.M. He had left the company early to pick up Elena, while all of his workers were still busy completing their job at the company.

When they arrived at the Jinlu Complex, it was already 6:30. Auntie Qin had finished making dinner, and they ate together.

Elena went to bed at 10 P.M., while Lu Chenjun was finishing up his work inside his office. At half-past 12, Lu Chenjun quietly walked into Elena's room and crawled into her bed.

Elena rolled around in her bed, her face turned towards Lu Chenjun. He gave off a light scent of mint, and Elena smiled in her sleep at the pleasant smell. She moved in closer, her head resting on his firm chest.

Lu Chenjun also smiled at Elena as he carefully pushed a strand of hair behind her head. He placed a hand over her waist and closed his eyes.
