47 A Smart Brain

Chu Hua sat down in the chair across from Lu Chenjun, "How about I move in with you?"

Lu Chenjun looked at Chu Hua, excitement shown all over her face.

"Explain." Chu Hua was a little bewildered at Lu Chenjun's sudden cold attitude towards her. She needed to work harder.

"Well, I can't live in a hotel forever. I don't have a place to stay in and I don't have a job yet. I couldn't think of any other way, so I was wondering if I could stay with you in your house."

Lu Chenjun's first reaction was to refuse Chu Hua's idea, but he has learned to think before he spoke.

He leaned back in his chair and didn't reply.

After careful thought, he said, "Okay."

Chu Hua immediately stood up, "I knew you would agree, Chenjun. I'll go pack up my stuff. Can you come to pick me up when you're done with your work?"

Lu Chenjun nodded and watched as Chu Hua skipped away.

For Chu Hua, she had two main reasons for wanting to live with Lu Chenjun.

First, living together was the best and fastest way to improve their relationship and hopefully kick his girlfriend away. Second, this was the whole reason she had come back. If she wasn't going to gain anything from Lu Chenjun, why did she have to go through everything she went through?

For Lu Chenjun, there were two main reasons why he agreed to have Chu Hua live with him.

First, living together would mean that he would be with Chu Hua more often. This would give her more chances to be honest with him and tell him the true reason. He wanted to give her a chance, a chance to heal their relationship and go back to nine years ago.

Second, if Chu Hua were to finally figure things out, he needed to break up with Elena. Lu Chenjun doesn't want to wait until Elena has already fallen for him until he tells her that he wants to break up. However, he didn't know that what he didn't want to happen had already happened.

---

Elena wasn't in the right zone the whole day. The director screamed at her once when she forgot the lines to a scene.

Although she was feeling a little better when she left the warehouse, she was still unhappy. Since she didn't drive her car here today, she had Mila drive her to the Jinlu Complex.

The security guard didn't let them in as he didn't recognize Mila or Mila's car, so Elena got off at the front gate.

The security guard did recognize who Elena was, so he offered to take Elena to Lu Chenjun's house on his security cart.

Elena refused his offer as she was fine with walking a little and getting some exercise in. When she finally arrived in front of the house, she was panting for air and her hair was slightly messed up from holding it up with her hands.

It was getting close to summer, and the weather was starting to heat up. Although it was already nighttime, the temperature was still relatively high.

Elena unlocked the door and stepped into the cold building. She took deep breaths of the cold air and made her way to the dining room.

It was pretty late so Elena hoped that Lu Chenjun had already finished eating. She dropped her stuff onto the couch and put on her slippers.

Right before she turned into the dining room, she heard voices. She stopped, wondering if she should go in. She didn't want to disturb Auntie Qin talking with Lu Chenjun, and she also didn't want to see Lu Chenjun.

Her growling stomach encouraged her to step into the dining room. She shouldn't let her own stupid emotions prevent her from eating. Nothing could prevent her from eating!

However, what she saw in the dining room wasn't what she was expecting. Elena looked back and forth between Lu Chenjun and the other woman, who had stopped chewing on her food.

'Chu Hua.' The name popped up in Elena's mind as she stared at the woman in front of her.

About two hours ago, Fang Shi had driven to the Daxin Hotel and picked Chu Hua up. Chu Hua had finished packing extremely early out of excitement to move in with Lu Chenjun.

The last time she had visited Lu Chenjun's house was almost 10 years ago. Plus, this time, the house was so much bigger!

Fang Shi sneaked glances at Chu Hua every few seconds through the front mirror. Although he had heard many things about this woman, this was the first time he was seeing her.

Fang Shi noticed the resemblance Chu Hua's eyes had with Jin Yinghui. Interesting.

After safely driving Chu Hua over to the Jinlu Complex, Fang Shi left.

In the car, Fang Shi couldn't help but wonder if what his boss was doing was a good choice. Having worked with Mr. Lu for so many years, Fang Shi could half-guess what Mr. Lu was trying to accomplish through bringing Chu Hua into his house.

Mr. Lu still couldn't put down Chu Hua, and he was giving her so many chances to not disappoint him.

Fang Shi shook his head silently. Although his boss may be blinded by hopes of young and first love, Fang Shi could still see clearly. Chu Hua was not a smart woman.

Did she think that she was the only person that could change in nine years? Lu Chenjun was no longer the young, powerless boy he was nine years ago. Did Chu Hua really think that Lu Chenjun can't see through her schemes and her intentions?

Fang Shi could only shake his head and pray for the best. He didn't have the power or guts to tell his boss what to do and what not to do.

'A smart brain is something good. It's too bad Miss Chu Hua doesn't have it.'

Chu Hua was staying in the guest room, and after she had unpacked her stuff, Lu Chenjun had come back.

Chu Hua took her time as she walked down the stairs, admiring the exquisite and luxurious design.

"You're back. Thank you for letting me stay here."

Lu Chenjun looked at Chu Hua's hand, which was resting on the golden handrail of the stair.

"Your welcome."

At this moment, Auntie Qin walked over.

"Mr. Lu, dinner is ready." Auntie Qin completely refused to acknowledge Chu Hua's existence, and Lu Chenjun didn't bother fixing Auntie Qin either.

When Chu Hua first arrived, Auntie Qin was confused but showed respect to this guest. However, she only had to interact with Chu Hua a few times before she realized her purpose for coming here.

Auntie Qin realized that she may be biased, as she liked Elena and didn't want some other random girl to just take Elena's spot in the house.

Auntie Qin liked this feeling of caring for someone and wanting someone to be good. It felt like Elena was actually her family.

In summary, Auntie Qin just didn't like Chu Hua.

Lu Chenjun brought Chu Hua over to the dining table and helped her sit down. They began eating in silence, and Auntie Qin returned to her room.

Lu Chenjun offered Auntie Qin to sit down and eat with them, but Auntie Qin said politely, "It's okay. I'm uncomfortable eating with strangers."

Without waiting, Auntie Qin turned around to leave. Chu Hua's face straightened, and she looked towards Lu Chenjun, expecting him to say something about the housekeeper's horrible attitude.

To her surprise, Lu Chenjun nodded and began eating again.

Chu Hua put down her bowl and placed her chopsticks gently on top.

"Chenjun, do you still love me?"

Lu Chenjun looked up before also setting his bowl down onto the table.

Avoiding her question, he asked, "Do you want to tell me why you came back?"

He was giving her a chance, another chance. In his heart, Lu Chenjun begged for Chu Hua to be truthful with him.

Chu Hua froze for a second and opened her mouth. Before words could come out, the sound of slippers stepping into the room caused both Chu Hua and Lu Chenjun to turn their heads over.

Lu Chenjun's eyes widened as he looked at Elena, who was gaping at the both of them.

Chu Hua eyed Elena from head to toe.

'So this is Jin Yinghui. . .'
