Chapter 62- Teenager Stuffs

" Delilah!" Old madam Chen raised her voice slightly and Delilah turned to her, she stared blankly at the old madam for a while before she snapped out of her thoughts.

Sitting straight; she looked at the old madam, and said, "Yes grandma, is there anything you need?"

" What are you thinking about? Did you get a bad grade again? You have been too quiet lately, is there something bothering you?" Old madam Chen probed.

Delilah tilted her head to a side, confused. When the words sunk in, she said" Ah, I am perfectly fine grandma".

Old madam Chen's eyes narrowed, "I didn't ask whether you are fine or not, I asked what you were thinking about…"

Delilah's lips formed a 'o', "Oh, it is nothing grandma. It- it is just teenager stuffs, you know?"

Old madam Chen's lips twitched, "Does this teenager stuffs involve a boy?"

Stunned, Delilah quickly refute, "Ah, no, no grandma, it has nothing to do with any boy. I keep my distance from boys as you've taught me…"

Old madam Chen wasn't buying it, she looked at her like she could see through her soul, a suffocating chillness descended in the room, "Alright"

She sat straight and continued to eat as Delilah released her breath.

" Evening family" Chen Xiao's voice echoed in the room as he walked in.

" Dad" Delilah ran into his arms.

" How are you doing, Lila?"

" I am good dad"

"And school?"

" Awesome, the principal said we should prepare for the national defence education, it'll take place soon"

"Eh…"

Chen Xiao and Old madam Chen shared glances, "Shouldn't you have done that in the tenth grade?", Old madam Chen asked.

" Yes, the principal mentioned; it had to do with the weather outbreak in the camp, he said there was an earthquake, can you believe that…" Delilah explained excitedly.

" So they will be organizing it in a different location?" Chen Xiao asked and Delilah nodded.

She continued, "I've heard the freshman speak about it, they said it was as fun as excruciating… I can't wait"

" That's good Lila, but you have to remember your health condition, alright?" Chen Xiao reminded seriously.

" Yes dad, I heard there will be doctors there so I don't need to be that cautious",

After Delilah words was silence, "Lila, your health is not something you can play with, it is serious, remember there are some things you can't eat, and you mustn't stress yourself too much…"

" Maybe I should call your principal and explain that you shouldn't go--"

Delilah panicked and interrupted hurriedly, "But dad, it is mandatory. I will take care of myself, I promise".
