Chapter 28- Annabelle Ning

"Morning Mr. Du Gang", the whole class rose and bowed.

"Mm! Settle down all of you…", he instructed without raising his head, he kept opening the textbooks he arranged on the podium.

"Can someone refer us to the last topic?" Mr. Du Gang questioned the class.

Delilah had read the topic, but she wasn't the type to answer questions so she sat still; however, the girl sitting with her, Ning Xiu (Annabelle Ning) raised her hand.

Annabelle Ning is a good student, she's a beauty, but her bookworm personality made her look like a nerd. She has good marks and was also one of the top students. She attended the same middle school with Delilah which is one of the reasons why she sat with Annabelle.

Delilah's purpose for sitting with Annabelle was, if she could sit with Annabelle, maybe she could rub off a little book worming personality from her.

"Yes, the girl with glasses", Mr. Du Gang pointed at Annabelle, and she stood from her seat.

"The Ming dynasty, sir", said Annabelle before she sat confidently.

"Excellent, who can give us an explanation on the Ming dynasty", Mr. Du Gang asked.

This time, Fredrick raised his hand and most of the girls in the class settled their gaze on him like he was a professor, they all had smiles across their lips.

After receiving the affirmation to go ahead from Mr. Du Gang, Fredrick spoke,

"The Ming dynasty ruled China from thirteen sixty-eight to sixteen forty-four A. D, during which China's population doubled. It was officially called the Great Ming"

"It was the fourth-longest Chinese dynasty. It replaced the Mongol Yuan dynasty, which had been in place since the thirteenth century C. E"

"It was founded by the peasant rebel leader, Zhu Yuan Zhang…"

"That is enough, please clap for him class", Mr. Du Gang interrupted Fredrick and ordered the class. When Mr. Du Gang asked the class to clap for him, the girls went wild with clapping and Fredrick sat down.

Delilah sneered and rolled her eyes, if her eyes hadn't opened, she'll be among the dumb girls clapping wildly for Fredrick.

When the clapping died down, Mr. Du Gang said," Now, we are going to a new topic which is the Ming dynasty emperors", he wrote the topic on the chalkboard.

★ During break ★

Delilah sat on a stone bench with the picture of little Delilah and little Harrison in her hands as she watched Harrison play basketball alone.

Though there were other girls around, staring admiringly at him, she sat somewhere far and unnoticeable to him.

"What should I do now? Should I walk up to him? He looks so scary despite his handsomeness! They really do have some similarities…", Delilah thought as she took a glance at the big Harrison playing basketball and the little Harrison in the picture.
