Chapter 32 : Worries

After putting his cell phone in his pants pocket, Yifan walked with his face down and returned to his mother's room to see Mrs Wang who was sitting reading a book. Hearing the sound of the door opening Mrs Wang stopped reading for a moment and she looked and smiled at her son who was walking towards her.

"You've read enough, I think you should take a break. Lie down mother, I will massage your hands." Yifan smiled at Madam Wang. But the middle-aged woman could see that there was something her son was thinking about something that made his face not as bright as before. But Yifan is the type who likes to keep things to himself and will never talk about it unless it's urged or someone knows it. Mrs Wang didn't even talk about what was bothering him because if she asked now surely her son would dodge and lie to her. In the end, she just kept silent and obeyed what Yifan said and if she had a chance she would ask her son. Yifan took the book his mother had been reading and placed it on the bedside table then he gently helped his mother to lie down on the bed.

"You have to rest often because it's a message from the doctor and then if something hurts, even if it's just a little, you have to tell me, okay?" Madam Wang just smiled and nodded her head slowly. After that Yifan calmly sat on the chair beside the bed and gently massaged Mrs Wang's hands which made the middle-aged woman feel comfortable and calm.

"Mom, if you're sleepy, it's okay to sleep if I'll take care of you here. And when it's time to take your medicine I'll wake you up." Hearing Yifan's very soft words, Madam Wang raised her hand and gently stroked the side of Yifan's face.

"Thanks, darling." After saying that Madam wang slowly closed her eyes and before long there was a very soft and calm voice. While Mrs Wang was sleeping Yifan smiled and kissed the back of his mother's hand, and he couldn't help but think of Isabella.

After that Yifan continued to look after Mrs Wang, beside her and massaging her hands and feet, occasionally glancing at the clock hanging on the wall. A long time passed until finally, maybe because Yifan was tired, he slept in a sitting position beside his mother, still holding her soft hand. It didn't even feel like dusk had come, Mrs. Wang opened her eyes slowly and saw the orange colour around her. She turned to the side and saw her son who was sleeping while holding her hand. She slowly got up from her bed and sat leaning back. Mrs. wang immediately rubbed Yifan's head with her free hand she continued to do it until a soft voice stopped her activities for a moment.

"Bell…Bels…" Yifan muttered very quietly in his sleep. Seeing Yifan who likes to make Mrs Wang with a gentle smile on her face she gently stroked her son's face. Maybe because he felt a soft caress on his face Yifan slowly opened his eyes and he could see a familiar hand caressing him gently and affectionately. Yifan immediately got up and rubbed his face for a moment.

"I'm sorry mom, I accidentally fell asleep." He quietly looked at his mother who shook her head.

"It is okay, dear. You must be tired of looking after mom all day." The madam raised her hand and rubbed the side of Yifan's face.

"I'm okay mother, it's my duty to take care of you." Yifan rubbed Mrs Wang's hand across his face.

Because it was getting late, Yifan immediately went to the hospital canteen to buy fruit for his mother, even though the hospital gave regular meals to his mother, sometimes Mrs Wang didn't want to eat it, that's why Yifan always bought fruit or other healthy food but still delicious for the mother to eat. When Yifan returned to his mother's room, there was an unpeeled apple in his hand. He sat beside his mother, peeling and cutting the apple into ready-to-eat pieces for Mrs Wang. While peeling the third apple, Yifan suddenly accidentally injured his hand which made Madam very surprised.

"FanFan, are you all right dear? Why are you daydreaming?" Madam Wang asked with a worried look on her face.

"I'm fine mom. I'll go to the bathroom and clean the blood first." Yifan just smiled and then got up and went to the bathroom in the room. Madam Wang sighed softly as she watched Yifan's back enter the bathroom.

"What happened to me? I can't calm down at all, I'm worried for Isabella. I can't reach her and I can't even go to her place and leave mom alone." With a tired look on his face, he washed his face with cold water to calm himself down a bit even though he knew it wouldn't work. After washing his face and cleaning the blood on his hands, Yifan came out of the bathroom and saw his mother reading a book and eating an apple that Yifan had prepared for her. Yifan walked closer to his mother and sat down next to his mother again. He took his cell phone from his pocket and saw that there had been no message from Isabella, which made him unknowingly sigh, which was noticed by his mother.

"FanFan did something happen to Isabel?" The question from Mrs Wang made Yifan immediately realise and immediately looked at his mother who was also looking at him. For a moment Yifan hesitated whether to tell his mother or not but his mother's gaze asking him to explain immediately made Yifan give up and tell Mrs Wang the truth.

"I don't know mom when I called her the answer was Bella's cousin. And he said something had happened and made Bella have to rest in the infirmary. He didn't explain what happened but I felt something bad had happened to Bella." Listening to Yifan's story made Mrs Wang worry about the beautiful girl because Mrs. wang knew from Yifan that Isabella was often bullied by her friends at school. The middle-aged woman could also see the worried look on her son's face that had made him gloomy.

Then Mrs. wang gently rubbed the side of Yifan's face and then told Yifan to go to Isabella's house to make sure how the beautiful girl was.

"Then Fanfan why don't you know go to Isabel's house and see if she's okay," said Mrs Wang with a smile on her face.

"I can't mother, if I go what about you here?" Yifan shook his head and looked at his mother.

"Stupid child, a mother will be fine here. After all, there are doctors and nurses here who will come soon if mom calls them and again, mom's condition is getting better, dear. You better go to my daughter-in-law's house and make sure she's okay." Hearing what his mother said made Yifan couldn't help but smile at her. Yifan immediately nodded his face excitedly and just before leaving he hugged and kissed Mrs Wang's forehead before running out of the room and rushing to go to Isabella's house. Meanwhile, Madam Wang could only smile and shake her head at her son's behaviour. Yifan kept running until he got out of the hospital building and kept on running until he arrived at the bus stop, he waited a long time but the bus didn't come soon, in the end, he decided to run to Isabella's house. When he arrived in front of the gate of Isabella's house, he saw that the house was empty and dark gasping for breath. He decided to sit on the ground and lean against the fence of Isabella's house.

"Maybe Bella hasn't come home yet, then I'll wait here for her." Yifan sat and leaned against the railing and he waited a long time even until his hands were frozen because of the cold that night.
