37 The Traitor & The flashback

"Who is he now???", Travis asked in a low voice while watching a boy who was certainly the junior student approaching them with a smile full of joy as well as being surrounded by the clouds full of excitement. 

"The traitor I planned in the library to get her where about out.", Lucas replied in a low voice turning to Travis where the next moment he walked towards that boy with a smile that emanating kindness while stating politely, "Max, so nice to see you here. Thanks for taking your time out to help me. So, how is everything going on???"

"Don't make me embarrass, Brother Lucas, anything for you.", Max who was beaming in happiness to meet his idol personally scratched his head shyly stating where the next moment, he added excitedly while the images of his memory fragments from a while ago were flashing in the surroundings of his mind, "I did exactly as you asked me to do. The boy who Mrs Liberian asked to pass the news to Bella, I spilt ink on his uniform and send him to clean it up. And that Bella, I asked some of the drama club students to take her with the excuse of extra practising for their new drama."

"Very good. This is why you are one of my closest buddies. By the way little bro, where is your sister Aurora???", Lucas who wrapped his arm around the shoulder of Max with a pat full of appreciation tried to dig more out of him with his facade of being the kind gentle soul full of gratefulness.

"She is in the abandoned section of the library which is used as the storage area as none preferred to go to that part of the library or use the shelves or that almost suffocating haunted tables there often.", Max replied trying his best to hide his excitement where the next moment he added with a wide smile, "Sister Aurora must properly be arranging the book on the shelves there alone. Everything has been prepared according to your plan. Now you can go and help her. She will be so happy."

Travis who was still struggling to digest the situation, the view in front of his eyes and the words touching his ears dropped his jaw in shock to hear Max's last statement regarding Lucas's want of helping Aurora where Lucas released Max from his side buddy hug with a soft pat on his shoulder and a kind smile expressing his gratefulness while stating, "Sure, I will. Thank you so much for your kind help. I am so grateful to you."

"It's nothing at all. Anything for the brotherhood.", Max scratched his head again with his words trying to hide his shyness to receive appreciation from his idol where Lucas who was good at keeping his pawns stick to him and make them loyal to him said placing a VIP pass in the pocket of Max's shirt with a slight smile overflowing sweetness, "Okay then, I will probably see you in the evening, outside the computer café. My treat."

"But… you don't really have to.", Max struggled to have Lucas shower him with too many awards for his slight help where Lucas calmed him in one go with his dazzling angel-like elegant behaviour and his ultimate charms, "Oh, come on. You have helped me so much. I just want to be a bit kind. Don't reject my offer. I will feel burdened."

"Okay, I will meet you in the evening. Done deal. Hurry to sister Aurora. Bye, brother Lucas.", Max accepted Lucas's offer with a bright smile where the next moment without delaying a moment he vanished into the crowd of the students.

"Yeah, take care.", Lucas waved his hand with a slight smile where he turned to face Travis only to be encountered his spy-like gazes fixed on him while his tune full of pressurized air was filling his ears with his fiery naggings, "Will you bother to say what's going on??? Who is this Bella, that guy??? Ink… books.   Shelves… tables… what is all these???"

"If you are insisting, then, of course, I will...", having no option but to share the whole thing with Travis his soul buddy Lucas said with a slight sigh where the next moment he began to narrate the whole backstory from the beginning while the memories of his on the act were continuously playing in the back of his mind like a movie, "Listen up carefully now that you are this eager there is no point of wasting time randomly. Like I said I saw Aurora entering the library with a junior girl and that girl's name is Bella.

At first, I was kinda shocked because it was the lunch break, usually that time her those over-possessive foxes keep sticking on to her like glue while guarding her like a white lotus from every threat. As a result, finding such a rare opportunity, I secretly followed them to the library where I encountered them chatting with Mrs Ann near her counter.

So, after observing them carefully for a while keeping myself covered in the crowd of the students, I then entered the library cautiously avoiding everyone's gazes and once I was in, I immediately hid myself behind the bookshelf next to the counter of Mrs Ann to keep a track on their conversation and that's how I got to know about their attempts to complete some emergency booklist. Later on, I just kept myself secretly following Aurora to find a proper opportunity to hunt that cute little red riding hood. (A sly smirk full of wickedness formed in the corner of Lucas's lips while his eyes were sparkling with a strange obsession.)

And finally, I got one when I got to know that she was heading to the abandoned storage area of the library to store some books alone. Of course, it was the best opportunity so far to get a grip on the little beauty but out of the blue that Mrs Ann suggested her to have the company of that Bella to finish that task which almost ruined my plan of getting hold of that innocent bunny alone. (The clean expression of Lucas changed into a dark one full of disgust and hatred)

As a result, I immediately called that junior you just saw who is one of the puppets that I am raising among the juniors to accomplish various tasks of mine or my dirty works without tainting my hands.

Once he reached to me I narrated him about my fake sympathy gaining story of my girl, their sweet sister Aurora being angry with me on some of the couple things and my wanting to pacify her. As expected that foolish life bought my story and agreed to help me. (Lucas laughed out wickedly while amusement was overflowing his expression)

Then I gave him the instructions to help me accomplish my mission of pacifying Aurora, the sweetest girlfriend.

And as expected that guy, Max didn't fail to live up to my expectations though at first, I wasn't too confident in him as it was his first time having the chance to complete a task for me and I was preparing my plan B to win the situation if that silly thing messed up anything by chance but it wasn't required as the result turned out to be as what I was expecting.

That's why that kid was overflowing too much excitement from a moment ago while meeting me as he completed his first-ever task flawlessly in one attempt and manage to rise on my good books.

At first according to the first step of my plan, he ruined the uniform of the boy who Mrs Ann sent to call out for Bella on an emergency note to help Aurora with ink and then sent him to the washroom to clean up where somehow that kid was kept stuck in the boys' washroom while in his place Max disguised himself to be the messenger boy. 

Then the second step of the plan was to deliver Bella another message and send her far away from the library.

That was an easy one as Bella and Max both were in the drama club so Max asked her to go to the drama club to help them prepare for the upcoming big event of their club where in the club Max had already asked his friends to keep Bella as much as busy they could that she couldn't step into the library back again according to my instructions.

And the third step of the plan was to let Max keep eye on Aurora secretly making sure she wouldn't disappear from his sight as long as I reached the library with you and clearing a proper way for us to step carefully into the library without letting anyone notice us"

"So, you really came back for me??", Travis questioned out curiously where Lucas replied without delaying a second casually, "Of course."

"But why???", Travis put forth his another curious question where Lucas replied with a hard flicked on his forehead, "Are you dumb or what??? Of course, I came to pick you up as I won't execute the final step of the plan without you. I indeed will only accomplish my plan with your company. So, no matter whose help I take to carry out the steps or other areas of a plan but at the end, you are the only one with me in the final step. Don't you think that if I didn't come to pick you up then I would already have accomplished my plan without wasting more time and energy chatting here uselessly??? Forget it. I am so tired for this conversation now."

Lucas sighed irritatingly where he continued about his rest of the plan, "And when I reached here he was supposed to give me the details of the situation in there of the library as he did a moment ago after my summoning him with a call."

"This is the whole thing", Lucas let a deep sigh out tiredly after narrating the whole plan of his where he finally stepped out of the live flash black running in his mind with the vivid images of those moments that he was describing.

Travis who didn't get the opportunity to put forth more words due to Lucas continuing the rest of the statement was busy wondering in the back of his mind, " So, I purely misunderstood Lucas. At the end of the day, he was really counting on me to execute his plan. Because of me he delayed his actions and came to take me to accompany him in the final step. Damn it. What was I thinking??? I completely misjudged him this time. Sigh."

"So, you really came out for me. I thought you just abandoned me this time shooing me away from your planning. I am so sorry, dude. I misunderstood you.", Travis who was somewhat beaming with gladness as well as overwhelmed with relief to hear Lucas valuing him as always and his place in his friend list was safe, bro hugged Lucas with both hidden guilt and joy.

"Humph, another fool. How could I let you not get involved with this??? After all, you are my one and only loyal dog who keeps my secrets buried with itself perfectly. As I can't reveal this side of mine to others as my image of sunshine boy would damage, I can only turn to you to help me accomplish those final steps of my plans as you are the only one who is aware of my true nature. And if in any case if something goes wrong ever, I can easily dump the whole fault on you, without a silly like you even realized. Hahaha...", the evil inner self of Lucas laughed out in silence admiring the loyalty of Travis in the sense of mocking while those thoughts were lining up in his wicked mind where he hugged Travis back saying with a smile full of appreciation and playing his role of the best buddy perfectly, "Ow Travis, just let bygone be gone. You are my only best friend. Don't need to apologise to me or be insecure. I just involved others because I didn't want to drag you into this too earlier. Moreover, sometimes the handy work should be left to be done by those handymen."

"Hmm, I got that, Next time there won't be such silly mistakes on my part, thank you. So what is next???", Travis who was beaming in gladness put forth his curious question releasing Lucas from the bro hug where Lucas replied with a smirk overflowing evilness while his blue eyes dazzled up with wickedness, "You will soon know. Just wait and watch, the things are going to be interesting."
