What Kind of World

What kind of world is it that makes young people here, seemingly of my own age, so cold and ruthless? What is in their hearts... really?I stood there in a daze.

"Humph!" Campbell Russell snorted coldly, the gun in his hand turning as he inserted it into the holsters on his sides. He brushed past me, leaving me standing alone under the moonlight. How could this happen? It made me inexplicably angry! We had just broken through together, experienced so much together, but in the blink of an eye, everyone became strangers!

"Hey!" I turned around and shouted. They were walking in different directions. They paused in their steps at my shout, turned slightly, and I took a few steps forward, standing between them, forming a triangle with them. "Since we fought together, faced life and death together, we are brothers. Even if we have to part ways, shouldn't we at least say goodbye!"

"Who would be brothers with people from Silvermoon City!" Campbell Russell turned abruptly. After killing the enemy, his hatred seemed to shift back to Edmond.

Campbell Russell seemed to harbor too much hatred in his heart. He looked extremely disgusted with those people from Silvermoon City, but it wasn't as evident until just now when they had a common enemy. Edmond turned slowly, his gaze appearing calm, as if he expected Campbell Russell's hatred, and it seemed like he had become accustomed to it.

Campbell Russell turned to Edmond and sneered, "They only know how to hide in that moon! Regardless of our life or death!" Campbell Russell raised his hand and pointed high. I followed his gaze and saw the enormous crescent moon. It turns out, that is a city!

Campbell Russell withdrew his hand, looked at me, and a trace of disdain appeared in his eyes. "Being friends with people from Silvermoon City, hmph, you are insulting me. If you want to be brothers with them, go ahead and be brothers with him!" Campbell Russell turned and walked away.

I angrily grabbed him. "Why are you so angry? Edmond just helped you find some kind of antidote!"

Campbell Russell turned and looked at me, puzzled and strange. "Why do you seem to know nothing?"

"I!" Of course, I knew nothing!

I was originally minding my own business, burning incense in my own world, enjoying the sea breeze, making wishes, and my biggest worry was whether to follow my dad and join the military or follow my mom and pursue arts.And then, suddenly, I fell into this world. Even before I could recover from the shock, I was thrown into a cage, facing the fate of being tortured or desperately escaping. I witnessed gunfights and corpses everywhere! I'm only sixteen, for God's sake!

Even though my dad usually trained me, he never took me to see dead people! A sixteen-year-old girl who spends her days watching her favorite anime updates, only knows where to find delicious food when she's free, and cries for three days when the family dog dies – how could she possibly accept everything in front of her all at once!

Back in our place, boys of your age should still be studying, playing basketball, or gaming, right? Or maybe they're playing with themselves on the computer, or, well, you get the idea. Which one of them would pick up a real gun to kill someone or fly around like this?!

My brain became chaotic because of Campbell Russell's words. There were too many things I wanted to say, but there were also too many things to start with. My mind was filled with chaotic fragments of words, as if a long string of sentences had been completely disrupted, unable to form a coherent narrative.

Campbell Russell shook off my hand, glanced at Edmond, and then at me. "Where did you come from? Do you know Eclipse City?"

My brain continued to be chaotic, and I could only stand there in bewilderment.

"Campbell Russell! He fell from the sky, probably suffered a brain injury and has amnesia. Don't pressure him anymore," unexpectedly, Edmond provided me with a good excuse.
