"Is the Gun Broken?"

I understood now; radiation affects embryos, and Second Sister is protecting the baby in her belly.

I gently patted Second Sister's arm. "Second Sister, did you hear that? They're only checking me, not you. Relax." I gently stroked her arm, and she slowly relaxed her body, no longer growling, gently settling down and sitting quietly by my side.

I looked at Reed, Edwards, Bruce, and Robinson. "Come on, check me." I extended my arm forward to avoid scaring Reed and Bruce due to Second Sister.

They both immediately approached.

"Don't get too close to my wife!" Emery stared at them as if warning.

Reed and Bruce tensed up, becoming restrained.

Then, Emery looked at me. "Wife, this is Reed, and this is Bruce." Emery introduced them. On the left, holding the thermometer-like device, was Reed, and the one with the square and thick tablet was Bruce.

They awkwardly nodded at me, their stiff and embarrassed smiles visible through the helmets of their radiation suits. They hesitantly walked up to me, Bruce looking at Reed. Reed placed the gun about half a meter away from my body. Immediately, like infrared beams, thin light rays scattered from it, sweeping across my body.

Then, from the instrument held by Bruce came a mechanical female voice, "No radiation detected, radiation level is zero."

"What's going on?" Bruce looked at Reed in bewilderment.

Reed also appeared very puzzled, looking at the scanning gun in his hand. "Could the gun be broken?"

"Broken your head!" Emery walked up and raised his hand, patting Reed's helmet, "Didn't you see Flying Corpse Monster walking with my wife? How could there be radiation on my wife?"

"But Shepard did see Yvette walk out of the safe zone, and even if she went to the edge of the radiation zone, she should bring back a trace of radiation, although harmless. It doesn't make sense for there to be none at all," Reed puzzledly shook the scanning gun. "How is it possible to have none?"

"But what Emery said makes sense too," Edmund finally walked out from the side of the door. "Flying Corpse Monsters are sensitive to radiation. If Yvette brought back radiation, Flying Corpse Monster wouldn't walk with her."

Reed and Bruce took off their helmets and looked at me in confusion. "Could Shepard have seen it wrong?"Chapter 39: "Maybe~~~"

"Maybe~~~" Emery grinned and glanced towards the east, his tone oddly sarcastic, as if he envied someone with a more powerful ability. It gave me a strange feeling. ; he was a person.

"Wife, let's go. Ignore them!" Emery and Edmund walked towards me, ushering me and Second Sister through the gate.

Reed and Bruce were still puzzled, looking at their instruments and shaking their heads, wondering if something had gone wrong.

"What is Shepard?" I asked Edmund and Emery in the corridor.

Emery casually placed his hands behind his head, appearing nonchalant. "Nothing much, just an eye."

"Shepard is the eyes of our Noah City!" Edmund became excited, with an obvious sense of admiration on his face. "He can see beyond Shepard. Once he spots an enemy, Noah City can immediately enter stealth mode, making it impossible for the enemy to detect us."

"Seeing far is nothing impressive!" Emery chuckled. "Without our exploration team, you wouldn't even have food to eat!"

Hold on, so Shepard isn't a drone but a real person! Someone who can see beyond Shepard! So, Shepard is an ability user!

This world is becoming more and more bizarre. I'm starting to look forward to discovering the extraordinary abilities of others. Emery's ability, Bernice's ability, Dawn's ability, and Lindsay's ability – what are their abilities?

"So, we need to find seeds! That way, we can be self-sufficient and even trade seeds for other items..." Edmund paused, seeming to recall something as he looked at Emery. He suddenly smiled, "You're jealous of Shepard." Edmund sought the truth.

"Me, jealous of him?!" Emery immediately stopped in his tracks, standing in the corridor with his hands on his hips, looking amusedly at Edmund. "How could I possibly be jealous of him?! Is his ability stronger than mine?! Besides those eyes, what does he have that's better than me?!"

"You're definitely jealous of him!" Edmund, with a smile in the corner of his eyes, pointed at Emery's face. "Because Elder Arufa values Shepard more! She even gave him the title 'Noah's Eye' but gave you no title, 'Hahaha—"

"You little rabbit!" Emery suddenly grabbed Edmund's collar, almost pulling him close. There was only a thin layer of red between them. Emery stared fiercely at Edmund, and Edmund's gray-blue eyes stubbornly locked onto Emery.Second sister stood by my side, staring with a bored expression in her white eyes, as if she was watching a child. She let out a disdainful sound and sighed.

Standing next to Edmund and Emery made me feel a bit strange. Emery called Edmund a rabbit...

"What do you want to do?!" Edmund widened his eyes and stretched his neck, a look of challenge on his face. "If you hit me, it proves that you're jealous of Shepard!"

Edmund clenched his fists and looked at Emery, frustrated. Emery, on the other hand, raised his hands to his temples, seemingly at a loss for how to deal with Edmund.

"Bang bang bang bang." Suddenly, Amanda ran down the corridor, calling out, "Yvette, Yvette—"

Emery heard Amanda's shout, dropped his gaze from Edmund, and gave him a disdainful look. "Humph."

"Tch." Edmund also shot him a disdainful look and didn't bother with him.

These two were having a spat.

"Yvette—Luo!" Amanda paused in her steps when she saw Second sister, standing far away, cautiously observing her. She seemed to have forgotten what she wanted to say, looking surprised at how harmonious I was with the Flying Corpse Monster.

"Amanda, what's up with Yvette?" Emery reminded Amanda, his tone still irritated from the argument with Edmund.

Amanda snapped out of her daze but looked at Emery with confusion. "Emery, what's wrong with you?"

Amanda seemed a bit more mature now. Earlier, when I was holding Emery, she was the one speaking up for him. Right, Emery is an ability user; he probably wouldn't be easily held by me. So... Emery was just letting me have my way earlier.

Emery turned his face away, visibly annoyed and lacking his earlier playful mood.

"I said Emery is jealous of Shepard." Edmund covered his mouth with his hands and deliberately lowered his voice, but it was still audible to everyone.

Amanda thought for a moment with her head lowered, then looked at Emery. "Emery, in my heart, you are the hope of our Noah City!" Amanda's words were firm and powerful, her clear voice echoing in the corridor.

Emery turned his face back, looking at Amanda.
