CHAPTER FOUR (CHANGE THE LOOK)

She said, her eyes almost popping due to excitement.

I know you're happy but don't be too hopeful. Guys like that are mostly fake.

Katie said and continued trimming her nails with the nail cutter.

He doesn't even know who I am. So what does he hope to steal or gain from dating or befriending me? Arielle asked trying to push aside negative thoughts like that from her mind. She didn't want to jinx this.

I don't know. I am just expressing my concern love, that's it.

Katie said and looked away from her fingers for the first time since they started the conversation. She opened up her arms for a hug and with a smile Arielle gave her best friend, only comforter, sister, and adviser a hug.

After what seemed like forever, work came to an end, and five minutes after closing hours, Arielle was already at the gate of the company waiting for her possibly future husband.

She sighted his scattered hair and ever strangely charming smile fifteen minutes later. He waved at her as he came closer.

Sorry for keeping you waiting. He apologized.

I only just arrived. Arielle lied and smiled at herself.

She couldn't believe she has turned into a liar all in the name of finding love.

Let's go. He asked and offered to carry her back bag which contained her laptop.

Thanks. Arielle said with a smile as she handed it to him.

They got to the bus stop that was very close to the company but they were told the bus left earlier on.

And so they chattered a taxi.

Stop. They heard someone yell from behind them as they wanted to enter the cab and they both stopped abruptly and slowly turned around.

Mother. Arielle whispered as she saw Mrs. Rachel dressed in a simple lovely gown.

She looked almost unrecognizable, she was just like any other average citizen, and her looks were just too simple.

Mother? The man asked.

Yes, she's my mother. Arielle replied still unsure of why her mother was there.

Yes, I am her mother or do I look too young to be her mother? Mrs Rachel said using a different way of talking, even the way she walked was different.

What could she be trying to do? Arielle asked herself.
