Chapter 53

Carina woke up warm and comfortable in a way that said she wasn’t alone in her bed. Memory took time to return and when it did she felt her face glow golden. She’d- and then he’d- Carina looked up at him and saw that his eyes were still closed, that his breathing was still the deep, even breaths of true slumber and thanked the Mother that she had time to pull herself together. She pulled a hand out from under the covers and looked at the mating marks that were frozen around her wrists. She needed to decide what she wanted to do about them. If she believed that Ishaan was no threat, that he loved her completely and was to be trusted she should accept him as her mate.
