They ate together, talking and joking as usual. Chao was touching his new gloves every minute and Yitian was delighted to see that he liked his gift. Now he was sure that he made the right choice even with the second and third gift. Because he wasn't so sure before but he designed both the gloves and the other gift too, with the help of the shop designers.

Yitian paid the lunch they had and almost jumped from joy, how good a choice he made with those gifts. Chao was honestly touched. He noticed some similarities with those he wanted to buy himself, but these were made for his needs. The right one had padding and wrist protection, the left had wrist protection, but wasn't that thick, it was perfect for computer playing. Exactly how he needed it. Chao looked at the person walking next to him and wondered how he managed to get so much money to make design gloves.

"Where did you take all the money?" His curiosity was too strong, so he asked him. Yitian stopped in his tracks and flashed him a sad smile, then turned away and started walking again.

"I saved it. I always wanted to repay you. I just did more work." Yitian said and for Chao now it made sense. Why was he back from school so late every time? He just thought that he was in the library or somewhere.

"I hate to see you overwork yourself like this. I know you don't want to be a nuisance. But I don't think of you like that. You are my friend. The friend who needs help. I can't give you anything else than money. So please, accept that at least." Chao caught Yitian by his hand and looked him in the eyes. He didn't care about the people around them until one of them pumped into Chao. He pulled Yitian out of the way to the side corridor, leading to the toilets. Chao pushed him against the wall and looked down at him.

"Promise me. Promise that you wouldn't overwork yourself. I don't want anything to happen to you." Chao pleaded and Yitian was looking right at him. He was speechless, struggling to say something. But then he raised his hand and patted Chao on his head.

"That's not true, you gave me so much already. I don't want your money, because you already gave me my life. And that's something that no one else did. I want to pay you back at least a bit because I know that I can never do enough for you." Yitian smiled and snuggled from underneath Chao's arms.

"Now hurry. We have the other gifts for you to pick up and go to the last place." Yitian ran away.

The shop that was left to visit was just behind the corner, so Yitian ran there by himself. He talked to the salesperson again and got three packages instead of two.

"But I designed only one thing. What's the other?" He was confused and tempted to look into the third, smaller package.

"Our designer was delighted to do something so interesting, so he made a little accessory for your gift." The saleswoman said and Yitian was amazed by this shop. He would definitely visit this shop in the future. Yitian said his thanks and turned around just in time to see Chao coming in. He pushed him from the store and laughed.

"You can't see what it was. It's a surprise after we get home." Yitian laughed at the pissed Chao's face.

But his face wasn't fuming for long. It took them a while to get to their next destination, but when they arrived on the street, Yitian stopped.

"Do you believe me?" He asked Chao, who nodded without hesitation. "Then close your eyes, I will lead the way. And don't peak." Yitian took Chao's hand and led him into one of the buildings.

They entered through a narrow corridor, a place that wasn't clean or sparky, but it was really loud. And when Chao heard the noises, he surprisingly opened his eyes and stood there in the door, stunned. All the games, the noises of buttons being pushed, friends having fun. It was the first time Chao was here, and he fell in love with it immediately.

"Why did you...? How could you…?" Chao couldn't find the right words to express his feeling. He was looking around, amazed. When Yitian took his hand and pulled him again.

"Don't stand there like a tree. Come on let's play!" Yitian shouted and took him before one of the arcades.

When they were both younger, they had no friends, so they could only watch their classmates talking about going here. But now. They had each other. And Yitian thought that this would be just a minor thing for Chao, but when he saw his face lit up when he saw this place. He wasn't so sure about that. But what he knew was that he was excited to play games with his friend.

"Thank you." Chao finally managed to say something else than shouting noises, after the fourth round of Street Fighter and one round of Initial D. Yitian just smiled and tried to beat him once again. He was failing miserably, but he still loved it. It was the best time of their lives.

When it was time to close, they sadly left the building, They had such a great time, that they forgot the time. But Yitian wanted to take Chao to one more place before going home. He still had the bag with the packages on this hand, glad that he didn't lose it or forget it somewhere.

"This is the last place where I want to go with you," Yitian said as they emerged into a square full of people. He sneaked through the crowd to get right before the big glowing Christmas tree. Yitian turned around, sure that he had Chao behind him, because they held hands the whole time, so they wouldn't get separated.

"Merry Christmas. Thank you for my life." Chao's eyes reflected the Christmas lights around him, all the murmur of other people just disappeared. Yitian showed him the widest smile he was able to show and Chao was touched.

"No, I thank you." He took the bag full of gifts, but he didn't care much about them at that moment. For him, Yitian was the biggest gift he could get. The friend who was good and who was there for him.
