Chapter 6

Adam...

"YOU really made Lena join your group," as soon as Sanya entered, that was my immediate greeting to her. Why not? Even my new friend got involved because of her, and they're even teaching Lena to be like them.

She smirked and crossed her arms. "What's your concern? In the first place, the person you were with earlier was the one who answered us, you guys should know your place."

My eyes narrowed. "You're going too far," I approached her and held her arm.

"What the fuck! Don't you dare touch me!" She removed my hand, and her reaction surprised me.

"You're going too far, Sanya, you don't know when to stop. You and your friends are hurting people.Yes, I don't care if Lena's now part of your group and how that happened, but Sanya, you're a bad influence on her!"

"And who are you to say that?" she raised an eyebrow. "You don't know us."

"True, but that doesn't mean what you're doing is right. Why are you so furious with me? What do I always get picked on by you?"

"Because I'm annoyed with you, it's as simple as that."

"If it's that simple, why is your behaviour escalating? Why are you getting worse?" she hesitated at my question. "I can't recall doing anything wrong to you. I don't know why you hate me so much."

"Don't flatter yourself. We're not only like this towards you, don't think you're the only one because you're not that special. We do that to all guys, especially to those who harm girls, sometimes to girls who don't know their place."

I looked at her, her arrogance still evident on her face. "But I have harmed no one, not even my friend was doing that. We were the ones who were harmed because of what you did earlier, that's not right. I can't remember mistreating any girl."

"Didn't you kiss me before and embarrass me? Do you know that others might imitate you because of that?"

I sighed. "I got angry, that's why I did that, and I'm sorry for that. You pushed me to retaliate, but before that happened, I can't recall disrespecting you. So why? Why do you have so much anger towards me?"

I approached her, but she stepped back. "Don't come near me," her face had a stern expression. "Fine, from this day on, we won't bother you any more. When you see us, learn to leave, learn your place, stay away, because you won't like what I'm going to do."

After saying that, she stormed off and went up to her room. I kept looking at her room even after she closed it.

I thought understanding girls would be easy, but Sanya seems different from them. She's too brave, snappy, arrogant, tough, and all the negative traits you could find in a girl and a guy. The type that if you give her flowers, she'd probably hit you with them. I'm not giving an example because that's true – I saw someone give flowers to her friend Alexa, and she hit the guy with them. Is that normal?

No! Where do you even see that? A girl being violent, that's very unusual.

THE next day, I thought things would be okay since Sanya and I agreed not to bother each other on campus as long as I avoided her, and I really didn't want any trouble and further embarrassment, so I thought I'd just do that.

I was wrong.

Lee doesn't have classes today, so here I am alone again, and my next subject is still three hours away.

I was walking in the hallway when suddenly my vision went dark because someone put something over my head. "Hey!"

"Shut up, or you'll get hurt," a male voice said. It wasn't Sanya or her group, but still. Why am I always targeted?

I didn't know where they were taking me. I estimated there were three of them, and I couldn't fight back because I couldn't see, and they had a firm grip on me. Damn it, what are they planning to do to me?

I heard a door being opened, and they pushed me inside. I stumbled, but I managed to remove whatever they put over my head. It turns out it was a trash bag.

I looked around. Wait, why am I here? Based on my current location, I knew I was in the Culinary Building. It seemed like a storage room for food items. I checked the bottles there and read the labels: Spanish paprika, cayenne pepper, white pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and various other powders I wasn't familiar with. Earlier, I was walking in the hallway near here because this building is close to the parking lot. I didn't think someone would grab me and bring me here. And why? What do they need me for? Could this have been Sanya's doing?

My question was answered when the door opened again, and they pushed someone inside. "Hey!" I rushed towards the door, but they pushed me back in. Before I could get close to the door again, they closed it, and I heard their laughter.

I looked at the girl on the floor. I feel like I know her. I approached her and helped her untie the thing around her hands. I wasn't tied up earlier, maybe she struggled more than I did.

"Fuck! You'll pay for this!" I paused untying her hand as I realized who she was. "Who the hell is there?" she yelled.

I quickly untied her again, but then she kicked me, hitting my stomach. Damn it! I'm the one helping, and yet I'm the one getting beaten up. She was even wearing heels.

"Adam?!" she exclaimed. "What are you going to do to me? Are you getting back at me?"

I looked at her as she writhed in pain. "Me?" I coughed. "I'm getting back at you? I'm not like you! Besides, I was on my way to the parking lot to buy something for my next subject when someone suddenly grabbed me, put a trash bag over my head, and brought me here."

She moved away from me and looked around the room, pounding on the door. "You idiots! Open this door! I'll make sure you won't see the light of day again!"

I laughed at what she said. "They definitely won't open it now."

She looked at me, raising an eyebrow. "So, what brilliant plan do you have to get us out of here?"

I shook my head. "I have no idea. I don't even know why I'm here."

"Your stupidity is truly inherent, isn't it?" she mocked, and I just gave her a glare. "This is all your fault. I know they're getting back at me, damn it. They know that if they do something bad to me, their lives won't be enough to pay for it, so here they are, locking me in a room with the person I hate the most. It's even worse."

I stared at her. Am I seeing correctly? She seemed scared.

I let go of her and sat on the side.

Her arrogance returned to her face. What's her problem with me?
