Chapter 9

Brandon glanced at the reporters and reached out to hold Savanna's waist. With a smile, he lowered his head and leaned close to Savanna's ear.

He said in a cold voice, "If you don't want the paparazzi to write nonsense, then you should be more compatible."

Savanna smiled and raised her hand to gently hold Brandon's arm. The two of them entered the banquet hall and immediately attracted almost all people's attention.

Brandon was gentle and elegant, exuding the aura of a successful businessman.

Savanna was tall, gorgeous, and pure, like a fairy.

All the women present were envious of Savanna. Many girls in New York dreamed of marrying Brandon. Brandon was one of the best men in New York, both in appearance and wealth.

Soon, Brandon was called away by the Cassel Group's business partners. Taking a glass of juice from a tray held by a waiter passing by, Savanna began to walk through the crowd and slowly walked into the center.

Suddenly, a woman's envious voice entered her ears.

"Mrs. Cassel is so lucky. Mr. Cassel must love her very much. I heard that she was given a blue diamond ring worth more than 10 million dollars when she got married!"

Savanna turned around and looked for the voice. She saw an unfamiliar woman. The woman's husband should be a senior executive of the Cassel Group. At Avery's eighth birthday party, all the senior executives of the Cassel Group were invited.

"Have you guys heard that something happened to the Thompson Group? David was angered by those who once lent money to the Thompson Group. He has been unconscious until now. But Mr. Cassel did not help David!"

Savanna took a sip of fruit juice and glanced at the woman who spoke coldly. The woman turned back. When she saw Savanna, her heart skipped a beat.

She greeted Savanna awkwardly, "Hello, Mrs. Cassel."

Savanna licked away the juice at the corner of her mouth.

She said with a faint smile, "You two are so eloquent."

Savanna took two pieces of cake from the tray held by the waiter and slowly placed them in front of the two women.

"Madams, this cake is very sweet. Taste it! Then you will not be envious of me!"

Savanna was warning the two women.

Savanna glanced at the two figures following Brandon. The two men seemed to be the two women's husbands.

Savanna smiled, "Brandon hates people who stir up trouble the most. Do you think I should tell him what you said tonight?"

The two women's faces immediately turned pale. They looked at each other in fear and then quickly went to the corner with their glasses.

"They didn't say anything wrong, right?"

It was not a question, but an affirmative sentence.

Savanna raised her head and saw Tracy's youthful face.

Savanna did not want to argue with Tracy and planned to bypass her to leave, but Tracy blocked Savanna's way. It seemed that Tracy did not intend to let Savanna go.

Tracy said, "Savanna, your father is seriously ill and hospitalized.

"The capital chain of the Thompson Group is broken. People don't talk about it, but it doesn't mean that they don't know it. There has never been a secret in the business world. Brandon also knows it, but he just stands by. Do you think you are important in his heart?"

Tracy seemed to be deliberately making things difficult for Savanna. Tracy's voice was very loud, attracting the attention of the people around her.

Savanna didn't want to quarrel with Tracy.

Savanna lowered her voice to remind Tracy, "Tracy, tonight is Avery's birthday party.

"We should celebrate his birthday. We shouldn't quarrel with each other."

Unexpectedly, Tracy did not appreciate Savanna's kindness.

Tracy said in a louder voice, "Brandon doesn't love you. Not only does he not love you, but he hates you very much. I don't know why you are so shameless. You stick to him!"

Savanna immediately smiled coldly. She looked in the direction of Tracy's gaze and saw Brandon's tall figure. He was leading the executives of the Cassel Group to welcome important guests.

Savanna withdrew her gaze and looked at Tracy. The flash of light in Tracy's eyes did not escape Savanna's eyes.

Savanna leaned forward and whispered in Tracy's ear, "Tracy, I want to tell you a secret.

"Giselle said that you were not her biological daughter."

"Bullshit."

Tracy seemed to be scalded by a soldering iron. She glared at Savanna in shock and anger.

"Savanna, you ... you're talking nonsense.

"I'll go ask mommy. If she doesn't say such words, I'll kill you."

Tracy cursed as she left.

Savanna took a deep breath and smiled again. However, when the guests who smiled at her before saw her, they all turned away and pretended not to see her. People were always so snobbish. Savanna knew that Tracy's words that she was not favored by Brandon worked.

Savanna sneered.

Savanna saw that all the guests were surrounding her mother-in-law, Giselle.

Savanna chose a seat by the window and sat down. Then she took a glass of juice from the waiter. She drank the juice while listening to the music on the headset.

The doctor said listening to music was the best prenatal education.

Ever since Savanna was pregnant, she had been collecting all kinds of beautiful music.

Just now, Savanna saw that Brandon was welcoming the guests, but when she looked at the door again, Brandon was gone.

Savanna looked around the banquet hall several times but did not see Brandon.

Savanna's gaze accidentally fell on Giselle, who was chatting with a few rich ladies. Tracy stumbled downstairs. She reached out and grabbed Giselle's hand. Tracy seemed to say some words to Giselle. Giselle's face turned pale. She said something to several rich ladies and followed Tracy upstairs.

Savanna had a strong premonition that something bad had happened.

She asked the butler how soon the party would begin.

The butler told her that there was about half an hour left.

Savanna felt a little tired and was about to go upstairs to rest. Just as she reached the second floor, she heard a voice coming from the corner.

"Mom, what do you think we should do?"

It was Tracy's trembling voice.

Giselle probably also felt that the matter was serious.

After a long silence, she coldly warned Tracy, "If you want Brandon to be happy, don't tell Savanna."

"Mom, I won't say it, but Savanna will know it. They are having a heart-to-heart talk in the room, and Savanna is downstairs. What if she comes up..."

Tracy suddenly stopped.

It seemed that Tracy was anxious.

Savanna's body trembled. Her strong premonition told her that the person who could make Brandon throw away the guests and rush upstairs was definitely not an ordinary person.

Savanna's intuition told her that this matter wasn't simple. Otherwise, Giselle and Tracy wouldn't need to hide the matter from her.

"No matter what, you can't tell Savanna. You and Brandon should behave yourselves. I am worried about you. After Brandon leaves, take that woman away from the back door."

Giselle did not want to ask why that woman would appear on such an occasion tonight. She wanted to deal with the matter quickly. On the one hand, she wanted to save Brandon's marriage. On the other hand, she wanted to protect the reputation of the Cassel family.

Tracy muttered unhappily, "Her legs are broken.

"But it doesn't stop her from seducing Brandon!"

Savanna held the escalator so tightly that her fingertips turned pale.

Savanna wanted to turn around and leave. However, driven by curiosity, she eventually stepped up the stairs.

She wanted to see who the woman was.

Savanna mustered up great courage and walked up the stairs step by step. She felt that her steps were so heavy. Savanna clenched her fingers. Her heart trembled. Just as she reached the door of the master bedroom on the third floor, she heard faint cries coming from inside.

"Brandon, I didn't expect to see you again in my life."

The familiar voice made Savanna stop in her tracks.

It was Winnie!
